This happened Friday Oct. 9, 2020 - I had to have a tow truck come pick the car up. I was stranded off the freeway 8 miles away from the Rusty Wallace Dealership - which is where I bought the car from new. I'm still making payment. I tried to make it to safety off freeway - there was nowhere on freeway I could be safe. The tow driver informed me the car had loss a lot of oil - it was under the car when he moved it to his tow truck. Once at the dealership it turned out that it was not oil, but the transmission fluid that leaked out.

The dealership could not say why the transmission solenoid came loose, they thought it was very odd, but could not explain why this would happen to a 2016 Honda Civic. In any case they tightened the solenoid to specifics, filled it up with the transmission fluid and said it was fixed. However I had to take my car back to the dealership on Monday Oct. 12, 2020 because the motor shield under the car came off (I guess they did not secure it correctly when they did the work on the transmission issue).

NOW I will be writing another complaint because I will have to take my car back to the dealership again sometime this week - looks like the starter on the 2016 Honda Civic may be going out or has gone out. It will not turn on when I try to turn it on with the key, it just clicks. I'll add the complaint if it turns out to be the starter. My car is just a 2016 - and really the starter is going out already. Not good!!!

Randomly, after making a complete stop, it will take a few seconds for the car to accelerate. This has happened after coming to a slow stop at a stop sign or it may happen after abruptly stopping to avoid an accident. It is a significant lag time where it makes me concerned that I am not going to be able to get out of harms way when there is oncoming traffic.

Civic Touring 1.5 turbo

this hesitation, surge, and roll bounce (when I put in park) is on going. when I accelerate from a stop and while I'm driving. I brought it the to dealer, I'm told vague to nothings wrong. Sometimes from a stop it feels like it lags power when I accelerate. I have called Honda corp just to make a paper trail. I'm fold it's all ok and normal. I know better. I will stay on top of these issues until it's resolved. brand new honda civic coupe touring 650 miles

Update from Aug 23, 2016: Im still having the hesitation issues. I have brought it back to the dealership because its worse now and for extra excitement, I have an on again off again romance with my 6 message brake problem. Im scared to drive this car. It seems to me that a recall can not be that far off considering a recent recall for the CVT transmission, same problems, just a different motor company. I could be wrong. Either way its a shame that we are the ones who lose.

transmission freezes randomly when accelerating

As i was switching lane and accelerating ( i was doing approximatively 35m/h ) the transmission felt like it froze for a quick couple of seconds, then jerked forward ...quite scary as there was traffic behind me !!

i had experienced it a couple of times before but didn't think much of it.....
