I say we should take Honda Motor company to court. File a Class Action Lawsuit!
My Brother and I each bought new HCH's in 2007. My brother noticed a problem with the handling on his vehicle at highway speeds about a year after the purchase. He thought it was a steering problem and was afraid to drive the car anymore, so he called Honda and informed them. Honda sent a tow truck to take the car to a Honda dealership. The knuckle-head tow truck driver did not check whether the emergency hand brake was engaged and towed the car with it on. That fried the cars rear brake shoes, drums, bearings etc. Honda refused to take responsibility, first saying the tow truck was operated by a sub-contractor. Then they changed their story and insisted that the damage must have happened earlier - insinuating that my brother must have been driving with the emerg brake engaged!
My brother filed a case with small claims court and Honda finally was forced to pay. But they just covered half the expense incurred. My brother was fed up by then and did not pursue it. Later he had his tires replaced due to uneven wear. Nothing was ever mentioned about this TSB. No more Honda's for either of us. We have had it with them. I have had good experiences with Toyota before so it'll be Toyota from now on. Everyone I know, will also be given this info and advised to avoid Honda.
Some of you might wonder why my vehicle did not have the same prob's. I happen to be a sailor so I drive it very little. Just took it in for an oil change to Honda dealership and the Tech recommended alignment due to uneven tire wear! No mention of the TSB. Lucky for me I googled the problem and stumbled onto this forum. Thanks for this great thread. I will keep you guys posted about my car as I have called in today and made appointment for tomorrow.

I think I was ripped off by Honda, after being a devoted customer since the early 1980's. The Civic Hybrid is apparently overated, and not only doesn't get any better mileage than my 98 Accord (size,wt difference considered) and it's also a tire eater! I shouldn't have to buy special "camber kits" to properly align the rear wheels, if the car didn't have them on it to begin with!!I SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON THIS CAR, AND I WISH NOW I HAD SIMPLY BOUGHT THE BASIC CIVIC MODEL INSTEAD!

I had owned and Acura and thought the Civic Hybrid would be a great car. Meets all of the mileage statements but eats tires like a rat eating candy. So much for saving the enviroment! Took it back to dealer five times. They keep replacing tires and telling me it is fixed. 12k miles later it needs tires again. This sucks. Wanted to pass this car on to my daugther, now I will be passing it on the crusher. Don't buy a 2007 civic. OH yeah new words for "Recall", "Service Bulletin". LOL. OH what is even more funny is Honda sends out those stupid surveys after service work. Why?

2007 Honda civic hybrid had excessive road noise. At 27,000 miles the tires were shot and one of the tires were separating. Honda would not compensate me for premature tire wear. The dealer replaced rear upper trail arms, and I ended up buying new tires. I hope someone starts a class action lawsuit! The car is much quieter now, but still has the usual honda road noise. My XM satellite radio also shuts down intermittently and they have refused to replace the XM module.

Dealership not the problem, Corp dragging their feet & giving me grief since Aug. 2008 with this issue. Tires replaced at 17,000 miles & aligned front & rear. Road noise excessive & considerable vibration. Not a comfortable ride. Kit put on suspension to no avail. Just replaced the rear tires again within last few days. Still not word from Corp. when dealership customer manager called. Ready for a trade to an Accord; if I get a good deal. Not happy with the figures thus far. Should get a fantastic deal since the civic I have now is not of the quality I expected.
