Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

  • 2,200 miles
The contact owns a 2009 Honda Fit. When attempting to start the vehicle she noticed that the electronic power steering warning light illuminated on the instrument control panel, and the steering column was locked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the technician located an angle sensor error code. However since the technicians could not duplicate the failure, they did not make repairs. The failure mileage was 2200. The vehicle identification number unavailable. Updated 12/07/09 the manual stated to restart the engine to reset the eps and it worked after several tries. The consumer drove the vehicle about 1 mile when the power steering failed again. The power steering failed again when the mileage was 2570. The vehicle was returned to the dealer. Again there was an angle sensor error code. The eps control unit was replaced by the dealer. Updated 12/09/09
