The Honda fit has a known issue with door lock actuator. The car locks and unlocks several times now it just make a high squalling noise that prevent the car from being locked.

I don't know if my car stalling at a red light might cause a wreck if in motion. Sitting at a red light and my car just stalls for a second then right back on. Radio and lights go out for just a second. This has happened twice while sitting at a red light. Hope it doesn't cause a wreck while in motion.

The contact owns a 2011 Honda Fit. While the vehicle was driving at any speed, the electrical system shut off, the steering lost power, and the headlights shut off. The system restarted a few minutes later. The failure recurred more often when the heater or air conditioner were activated. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The contact called dch Honda of nanuet at 845- 367-4380 (located at 10 NY-304, nanuet, NY 10954) and was informed to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. A case number was provided. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

Power steering failed multiple times while driving, and the radio cut out many times as well. When the power steering failed I veered into oncoming traffic and was unable to turn the wheel until it restored. Fortunately I was going less than 30mph, and avoided an accident. Upon researching this problem I see that many others have had the exact same issue. I am too afraid to drive the car as I live in a busy downtown area. This happened while driving in the city while traveling straight as well as turning.

The power steering cuts out intermittently for seconds at a time before coming back on while driving. No specific mix of speed or temp seems to cause it, it is random. The radio cuts out each time as well. I'm told this is a faulty eps unit or sensor and is a known problem with Honda Fits. When driving straight it has not been an issue but I've heard stories of peoples steering wheels locking in a turned position and this could obviously cause an accident.

The contact owns a 2011 Honda Fit. While attempting to enter the vehicle, the power locks failed to disengage and the manual locks failed. Roadside assistance was called and unlocked all the doors except the front driver's side door. The failure worsened to the point where none of the doors could be opened from the inside. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the actuator failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.

The wiring in Honda's is soy based which is highly desirable to rabbits, mice and other rodents. Mice ate my wiring overnight - car refused to start and had to be towed to the mechanic and repaired. I'm understanding that there's a lawsuit about this but I haven't heard anything. Basically, this means the wiring is defective in Honda's attempt to go green. I'm a realtor and need a dependable car. I also live in the country where mice are just a way of life, I will not know whether my car will start or not, or if something will happen while I'm driving all due to this issue.

After driving 20 miles through traffic with 1/2 tank gas and radiator temperature ok, no warning lights showing: Turned right at intersection and lost all engine power (no throttle response), then all lights (headlights and dash). Steering became stiff. We think cd player stayed on. Luckily no nearby traffic and enough momentum to pull into nearby parking lot. Put car in park, turned key off and removed it. Replaced key and car started with lights ok. We've had this car for 1500 miles and this is the first time it's done this.
