My 2003 Honda Odyssey's transmission went out in fall of 2010. I am a careful driver, taken care to maintain my car according to suggested maintenance schedule. The transmission felt a little loose for a few days, and then one day on the way home from work it completely failed. I couldn't get into any gear. I called Honda and asked for help and they said my car was too old and it was normal for transmissions to fail. The mileage on my car was 134760. I had to have a complete transmission replacement at aamco for $3000. This car has had so many problems, and Honda refuses to stand behind their product. I've had the key core go bad, my drivers side rear door had been "fixed" 3 times and still won't close properly, all the paint is peeling all over the car, and Honda would only repaint portions of the car as part of the recall. So one side of my car and the back is completely peeled away, and they refuse to repaint it, unless I pay to have it done.

2003 Honda Odyssey - neither front door will stay open, they slam shut. When we open either or both doors, they will not stay open for you to get in or out. They slam shut on legs, body, etc. Have hurt my legs several times. What is the problem? it has not only happened on one occasion, but all the time. Also, both sliding doors slam open, make loud noise. Before, they closed quieter.

My paint on my 2003 Honda O is peeling. Rich holtz in Honda tomsriver said being we ought it in germany on a army base Honda does not need to cover it. There is a 7 year recall on it. He said he would contact Honda, but it is a $ $4000 job, and more then likely will not be covered.

2003 Honda Odyssey. The consumer stated that the horn did not blow and the SRS light was on. The consumer had an appointment on Thursday to have the vehicle looked at. The SRS light came on September 30, 2005, and the horn quit working on September 19, 2005. The consumer stated that the vehicle had the cruise control switch replaced. This did not help the problem. The alternator was replaced, since the consumer purchased the vehicle a metal on metal sound had been present, the keyless entry has never performed properly, the cruise control was inoperative, the SRS light stayed on, the horn had gone out, the windshield wiper was inoperative, the alarm had gone off for no reason, there was a wind noise coming from the driver window, the remote was intermittent, the dash lights would illumnate while the vehicle was in motion, and the alternator bracket had broken.
