UNBELIEVABLE!!!! My wife and I just purchased our Honda Odessey from a prestigues dealer. It is a 2003 Honda Odessey EXL loaded..."Certified Pre-Owned " with warranty. 66,000 miles, and we purchased an extended warranty on top of that. Have had it only a few weeks. We noticed the transmission slipping a bit off and on once every 2,3 days. It happens when accelerating. So I took the van into the dealer and explained it to them. They could not reproduce the problem and said that we are to keep bringing it in each time it does it. They tried to charge me for the technicians reviewing and test driving it, but I refused. NO JUSTICE! Honda should replace the transmission , IT IS BAD. I can tell , it is going bad. Wasted 2 hours hanging around the dealership. What they should do is make it right, provide a rental minvan, while mine is taken in and transmission is replaced with NEW ONE. The problem is they don't have sufficient test equipment to isolate and find the problem because it is intermittant. Honda needs to step up to the plate and recognize this and fix the problem, instead of making the consumer keep bringing it back and forth and the dealer wants to assess a charge each time, whether they find the problem or not. RIDICULOUS! 30 DAY TAGS STILL ON THE VAN, THIS SUCKS! What happens when my wife has to make an emergency evasive action to avoid and accident, and the transmission decides to slip and she loses 100% of the torque and it causes a severe accident ???? HONDA , FIX YOUR PRODUCT AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS PLEASE! THIS ISN'T RIGHT ! IT ISN'T RIGHT ! DEC. 12-2006

Between 50 - 60 mph, the transmission skips. I am upset at the fact that everytime I contact Honda about the problem they want to say, "It is just a characteristic of the type of transmission". Well, what type is that? Can you say "CRAPPY"! My husband and I represent most of America, you know us MIDDLE income families trying to get a reliable vehicle... OUR ONLY VEHICLE... We can not afford to keep taking it to the dealership for them to say (A) they can't duplicate the problem or (B) it is just a characteristic... Well which is it. They REFUSE to give us a loaner or rent us a vehicle so they can keep it for more than a day.... Now the vehicle gets stuck in Park..... Im not on an incline and the steering column is straight... Hey Honda guys..... I'm not stupid..... SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS VAN!!!

Like others reporting on this site, I found that the transmission skips at highway speeds - in all gears, and not just a little. Pressing on accelerator revs engine to 3000 - 4000 RPM before gears shift, and it shifts with a lurch. We haven't yet had it in to the shop
