CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007-2009 was, at one point, the best selling minivan in the United States. But 2007 owners got the short end of that deal.

Peeling paint, a whining steering pump and an easily breakable A/C condenser are all top complaints about the 2007 model year. And anyone who doesn't think a busted minivan A/C is a big deal has never taken a summer road trip with kids.

I have 2007 odyssey, and noticed paint peeling from roof. I first time noticed on 8/2012, and getting worse. I've been in contact with Honda America about my paint problem, and told by customer service rep. out of 3 year warranty. Honda wont take responsibility on it. I see many odyssey owners have same issue and this paint peeling is defective from Honda. Why Honda does not want to fix it? and why this issue fixed by Honda case by case even though there was a class action sue in 2012. How can Honda make to fix this paint peeling issue?

Update from Mar 1, 2016: This is Email from StateFarm which is my auto insurance: "Our investigation does not support a basis to pay your damages and we deny your claim because the damage to the roof of the 2007 Honda Odyssey are wear and tear. The paint condition on the roof appears to be caused by separation of the paint from the primer"

So this paint peeling issue is that separation of the paint from the primer. This is definitely Honda problem, not so Honda owners should not pay from their pocket.

I bought my 2007 Honda Odyssey three years ago. Last December I noticed some paint bubbling and peeling off the hood. I had no idea why or what to do about it. I received no notice from Honda about any recall or extended warranty on my van's paint. Over the last 7 months three more spots have started to peel paint.

In July I called Honda and they said that the warranty had expired in December of 2014, exactly when I noticed the first peeling paint spot. I took it in to Honda to have somebody look at it and was told that because the warranty is up there is nothing that Honda would do about it!! I am very upset that I wasn't notified about the paint problem, either when I bought it or anytime since.

The guy at the dealership said it would cost between $4000 and $5000 to fix it because it had to be stripped clear down to the bare metal and that every panel on the vehicle besides one was going to peel. I still owe money on this van!! Now we are either stuck with a terrible looking van that we are still making payments on or we trade it in while still owing money on it. I am very unhappy with Honda.

I am not quite sure if I am satisfied with "Honda's" solution of paying 70% to re-do the paint on my roof. I have had 4 cars before this one. Not one single one of those automobiles ever had a paint issue (Nissan, Volvo, Toyota). Not even my 1960's VW Bug had paint issues and when I bought the car it was over 20 years old .

This is my first Honda. It may be my last Honda, especially if the exterior starts to break down after 5 years.

I am very disappointed in Honda! I have always heard that they were a top notch company with quality craftsmanship. Well, NOT ANY MORE!

Very annoying to now have problems with the OUTSIDE of the car.....Never will I buy another Honda. I see two areas that the paint is peeling very suddenly so I can only imagine that this will continue. I already went to Boch Honda about it and was told it is not covered. Really? You expect the paint on your cars to only last 3 years. Doesn't say much about your paint jobs!!!!
