The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. While traveling 5 mph, the contact noticed that the power steering would suddenly malfunction. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the failure could not be reproduced. There were no prior warnings. The current mileage was 90000 and the failure mileage was 60000.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that left side sliding door and the right front passenger door failed to unlock intermittently. She had to climb over to the other side or turn off the vehicle and restart it to get out the vehicle. Additionally, she noticed repeated problems with the steering; the vehicle would not hold an alignment and would drift to the side. Also, periodically, there was a grinding noise when she attempted to stop, as if she were driving on gravel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership several times where the tires were rotated and alignment was performed regarding the suspension problem. The dealer also installed a seal on the door but the failure continued. In reference to the brake problem, the dealer could not duplicate the failure but did attempt repairs which did not remedy the problem. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that they could not assist her. Current mileage was approximately 36,950. The failure mileage was approximately 20,500.
Power steering is non-existent at parking speeds. While parking, turning or maneuvering at very slow speeds, the only way to turn the car is to "muscle" the steering wheel around. Power steering engages as speed increases. Mentioned numerous times to dealer and they claim that is the way a van drives. The vehicle already was repaired from lack of oil placed in steering column when it was built. Lack of manufacturer response is concerning me. My fathers 2006 had same problem and he was told Honda uses a bigger"screen" now somewhere in the steering pump and it is a known problem.
2007 Honda Odyssey pulls hard right after right turn and hard left after left turn. This is a major driving hazard as the vehicle has the potential to pull off the road very quickly or into other vehicles if the steering is not constantly corrected. I bought a used cpo Honda Odyssey in August of 2010, and we noticed this pulling problem right off the lot. On a flat surface after a right or left turn, the vehicle will change lanes in 3 seconds if not corrected. We have taken this vehicle to the dealership 2 times, and they tried many things to no avail (tire rotations, alignment, tire deflations, etc...). I asked them to check the suspension and struts because a person posted an unofficial fix online that deals with improperly aligned struts that worked. The service advisor claimed that they removed the struts and the problem was fixed. However, the problem is not fixed, and actually the problem seems worse now. I am pretty sure they did not remove the struts at all since I requested to see the struts when they were removed and they did not show them to me at all. The service advisor and two technicians experienced this problem when they rode along on test drives with me, but the are claiming that the issue well within the specs defined by Honda. They continue to exclaim that there is nothing else they can do. There has to be a way to fix this, but it seems that they do not want to spend the money to fix the problem properly. My concern is that this is a major safety hazard, and I am worried that my family of five may be involved in a catastrophic accident because the pulling problem is so bad. Please help my family and all the other Honda Odyssey owners who are having this pulling / alignment problem get a proper fix by issuing a recall that requires Honda to confess to the issue officially and fix the problem once and for all before something catastrophic happens.

2007 Honda Odyssey steering continually pulls to the left when at speeds over 50 mph. Issue has been occurring for three years, since I bought the van new from Honda dealership. Issues has not been corrected or recognized to date by the manufacturer.
Vehicle had memory steer. Wandered left quickly if wheel is not held tightly. May pull right if last turn was to the right. Hard steering in general. Sore wrists after driving 60 minutes on freeway due to holding on to wheel tightly to stay in lane on freeway. Owned the van less than 1 month at time of travel. Purchased used. Two alignments performed and no change. Upon further inspection found upper strut rubber components not correctly installed on oem struts on vehicle. Disassembled struts and re-installed coil spring rubber on struts correctly, realigned tires again, and problem seems to have been corrected. No new parts needed to correct as old parts were functional but had not been installed correctly according to Honda technical service manual.
Honda Odyssey 2007 driver seat belt stopped working, dealer at first wanted to send me home without seat belt, after I refused to drive the car, they gave me a rent a car for repairs. Also brake system not working properly, multiple previous mentions to the dealer that breaks are soft, they told me it was not any thing bad and nothing they can do also steering pump problems went bad at 34,000, miles and they said it will cost 700 dollars to fix, steering very hard and not safe, unable to steer quickly and avoid objects on the road.
Noticed a ticking noise around the steering wheel when driving in the a.M. for over a year. Have had issues with steering while pulling into tight spots or sharp turns for a while. Have always equate it to bad tires (which was recently replaced) or low tire pressure. On a visit to Honda for another repair, had asked them to look into the noise issue. Was told that the power steering pump was bad. Had to pay for repair. Was informed that it has nothing to do with the power steering reservoir that was covered under warranty. Does not makes sense that we've had this issue for well over a year that it's not a part issue. Can not recall when the steering was ever as good as it is once the pump was replaced.
2007 Honda Odyssey- for the past 6-8 months at slow speeds when parking and turning, the power steering appears to quit working. When you get up to speed the problem goes away. This makes it difficult to exit the roadway from a dead stop and almost impossible to park or leave a parking spot. I fear being rear ended or worse. Local dealer "knows of no problems reported". vehicle is out of warranty (46,000 miles).

Power steering issue on 2007 Honda Odyssey. No power steering ability in parking, K turn or parallel park. Faster speeds it kicks in, slower speeds you have to muscle it through. Told by Honda service department that no recall to date, need to replace pump and reservoir. It's only 3 yrs old... this is not a normal wear and tear item. Google resulted in several consumer complaints on power steering. Although it did not cause an accident it is certainly a manufacturing defect. Please research further.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the steering wheel made a loud winding noise whenever he was driving at a highway speed of approximately 60 mph. When the contact was driving in the city, the steering wheel didn't make noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they were unable to duplicate the failure. The Honda manufacturer was called and stated that there was no related warranty or recall and to take it back to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer more than one time and they still cannot duplicate the failure. The failure mileage was 14,998.
2 complaints, first one is the power steering pump went at 35000 miles. Honda did replace it under warranty. But the pump in now at 60,000 miles is going bad. Second complaint, the front left hub bearing went bad way too early, 50,000 miles. This is a very dangerous problem. Called Honda and the local Honda dealership several times and received no help at all. They would not cover this part or the workmanship to replace it. Now at 65,000 miles the van is making the same noise so I am assuming another hub bearing is going bad. I have never purchase a Honda before this one, I will never buy another.
2007 Honda Odyssey. When at a slow speed, the power steering pump may not be operating at power and you lose almost all, if not all power steering assist. It has nearly caused an accident for me turning into driveways and parking spaces multiple times already (at least 3 incidents that were near-misses). Upon reporting the issue to Honda, it was difficult to duplicate in a limited test and I was simply told that was "normal" in my vehicle. There are dozens of reports with over a hundred people just in one internet forum for Honda Odyssey owners and this is apparently an issue with 2006 through 2009 models, and possibly even 2010 models. Honda has reportedly replaced power steering pumps, power steering fluid reservoirs, and a few other components for those who had warranties, although it appears the issue remains or is only resolved until 10K - 20K miles later when it resurfaces.
Brake pedal is very low and feels soft. Honda service bulletin 07-045 issued on March 5, 2009 does not really fix the soft brake issue. It is a temporary fix and will happen again in a matter of time. There have been some accidents reported and shared in the Honda Odyssey forum.this is a very serious safety issue needed to be addressed to Honda to prevent any accidents. Please help us and others as well. The consumer also stated there was a buzz/whine noise coming from the steering when the outside temperature was below 40 degrees after driving for 30 minutes. The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. In March 2009, she noticed a noise around the wheel. She took the vehicle to the dealer and the left wheel bearing was repaired. In December 2009, she noticed the same sound along with a transmission issue which she noted as difficulty shifting. She stated that at low speeds, she actually lost power steering capabilities and had difficulty turning. She took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the power steering pump was defective; the torque converter was replaced as well in reference to the issue with the transmission. The repair did not remedy the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired to-date for the power steering problem. The manufacturer stated that they would assist with the transmission repairs since it was still under warranty; however, they refused to repair the power steering at no charge. They offered her 25% off the repair costs. The current mileage was approximately 59,000. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000. Updated 02/13/10 updated 02/16/10. Updated 02/18/10.
2007 Honda Odyssey braking system not working good only less than 10K. Mile steering start shaking and dealer told us it is warp they charge me $99 for resurfacing rotor but after another 10K it come back again and my car steering is getting heavy again even dealer replace that already. I assume that Honda vsa or ABS not working properly some how when Honda lost very important life at highway accidents might they do something on this miserable happen. What kind car need to be resurfacing rotor every 10K mile and even I did that still on highway 70 mile drive steering make shaking and vibrating even it's resurfaced rotor.
Honda 2007 with broken rack and pinion with a strong hard sound upon steering wheel either to the right or left and leakage of motor oil due to failure of seal gasket. The car dealer is asking permission to american Honda so that part could be replace and it will take 2 weeks for an answer(ridicule) and meanwhile I am driving the vehicle.
I own a 2007 Honda Odyssey and have been having problems with my brakes for some time. They feel very soft and "spongy" when I step on them; my foot sinks all the way to the floor. There have been numerous instances where I have almost hit another vehicle because the brakes do not respond. The brakes also grind very hard and sound very loud when I come to a complete stop at the bottom of a hill. Also, when I try to stop or slow the van when traveling at high speeds (such as highway driving), my steering wheel vibrates violently. I have taken the van to the mechanic and have been told that my brake pads are fine (50% front, 60% rear), but that my rotors have worn prematurely. I also had problems with my power steering--I took the van in for service because I had a difficult time maneuvering the van in tight situations (parking)--it turns out that my power steering pump was not operating and needed to be replaced (at 36,267 miles)--267 miles over the Honda new car warranty.
