The contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey equipped with Michelin defender sl tires, size: R65/R16/235 (na). While driving 70 mph, the front driver's side tire exploded. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (hardin county Honda, 5608 North dixie highway, elizabethtown, ky 42701) where it was diagnosed that the front driver's side tire needed to be replaced. The front driver's side tire was replaced. The manufacturer was informed and did not assist. The vehicle failure mileage was 114,000. The dot number and tire failure mileage were unknown.

Tires with traction rating a, temperature rating B, and wear rating 740 with mileage warranty of 80,000 miles had to be replaced after only 38,407 miles. Tires had poor traction and tread on outside of tires was worn to 2/32", but not on inside. Tires were always kept at recommended pressure, rotated regularly, kept balanced and vehicle alignment was kept in good standing. Tire dealer recommended keeping the tires at 40 psi for more even tire wear and to make the tires last longer, however the vehicle recommends the tires be at 33 psi (front) and 35 psi (rear) for cold weather.

In June 2013 had my right rear tire blowout driving down the road at roughly 40mph on a clear day. Replaced the tire since the sidewall was destroyed. Took vehicle to Firestone in November 2013 to check bad vibration and 3 remaining tires all had huge sidewall bubbles protruding. Had to replace all three tires with only 36,000 miles on them (warranty for 65,000) bought the tires at wal-mart in Feb 2012 - Goodyear viva authority 235/65/R16 dot M746jn1R4111.
