2010 Honda Odyssey. Consumer states vibration and transmission problems the consumer stated he could fell the transmission slipping and the vehicle would shake while driving at certain speeds. The dealer was unable to duplicate the consumer's concern. The consumer stated the judder continued to get worse. The dealer then stated they could replace the torque converter to see if that would rectify the problem.

At 7000 miles, the transmission made a very loud grinding and rattling noise, shaking the vehicle, when shifting from R to D. this was repeated at 25,000 miles several months after the software upgrade. In July of 2010, vehicle was brought in for memory steering, they replaced the right strut. November of 2010, the vehicle steering is unstable at low speeds when turning left. The sensation is either over-activity of the power steering pump or under-activity. Vehicle seems very unstable under low speed driving conditions, especially on bumpy roads. Vehicle taken to dealer, they could not identify anything abnormal.

At 110,000 miles I began having transmission slipping when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gears. The problem continued to get worse until all shifts were slipping. This car has a long lag (5 seconds or more) when shifting from park to drive. At 114,000, the transmission is being replaced by a 3rd party transmission shop. $2600 later, the transmission is still having problems. The shop currently believes (they aren't sure because they still haven't got it working properly) the failure began with an electrical, possibly ECM, problem. This van has been well maintained.

I have purchase a Honda Odyssey van 2010 model and from day 1 when driving at highway speed it suddenly locked on low gear and the engine is running at 4000 RPM with the check engine light on and D light flashing. If it suddenly do this it would be a very serious safety issue.

2010 Honda Odyssey (10,000 miles) leased-- transmission revs at 6 and slams into gear at around 40 mph. Second occurrence since February occurred Tuesday. The car jerks and slams into gear upon entrance to a highway, with further revving and loud banging slamming into gear for the next shift. Between 1st and 2nd and then 2nd and third gears. It has not happened since then. Very scary.

In cold weather, with 1100 mi. On vehicle, drove 10 miles and came to a stop. Vehicle revved at 1500 rpms while in drive with foot on brake, put in to neutral and it revved to 5000-6000 rpms with foot on brake. Turned off and on, vehicle continued to rev at 5000-6000 rpms with foot on brake. Turned off and on again, vehicle back to normal. Problem has not happened again. Brought to dealer, dealer did basic testing, could not find any problems. "check engine" light did not come on, but dealer checked for stored codes, nothing found. Dealer could not replicate the problem, said vehicle is safe to drive. Dealer suggested foot was on gas pedal, or floor mat was on gas pedal. However, foot was on brake, and floor mat was secured to floor. We experienced the same issue multiple times with a 2001 Odyssey, thought problem would have been fixed with this new model. Dealer couldn't replicate the issue with the 2001 Odyssey either. The consequence is a safety issue, as vehicle could hit something in front of it if brake is not applied firmly when trying to come to a stop.

I have just bought a 2010 Honda Odyssey on October 16, 2009. On January 16, 2010, I was driving in New York city traffic stopped at a light behind several cars. Suddenly the car's engine started to race and lurched forward even with my foot on the brake. For several seconds the car kept lurching forward as I tried to step down on the brake even harder. As suddenly the unintended acceleration stopped. I came within inches of crashing into the car in front of me. I have four passengers in the car who witnessed this event at the time.
