Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

3 Continental contiprocontact tire failures and 1 about to fail showing a crack in the sidewall. All 4 were original equipment on the car. First failure was at 7 months and 3,463 miles. Second was at 23 months and 15,097 miles. Third at 24 months and 16108 miles (blow out @ 60 mph). Fourth discovered when replacing third one.

A Continental contiprocontact P235/65R17 tire that came installed on a new 2013 Honda Odyssey had the sidewall blow out while driving at about 45 mph. The tires have around 25000 miles on them. There is no other visible damage to the sidewall to indicate that there was any external cause for the blowout. A large section (approx. 2"X3") completely blew out on three sides remaining attached only on the side farthest from the wheel. The warranty document provided with the vehicle was for Goodyear tires rather than Continental, so I am currently waiting to hear back from the dealership on the warranty.
