CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2006 Honda Pilot is a solid trouble-free model year with no major problems reported, except for a minor trend of window regulator failure. However that's an easy fix of a few hundred dollars -- not a big inconvenience for an older vehicle, all things considered.

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Pilot. While driving 40 mph, the contact rear ended the preceding vehicle. It was a minor crash. She noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment of her vehicle followed by flames. She immediately had the vehicle towed and it is currently at the repair shop. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and she was informed that the failure was due to a design flaw. The current and failure mileages were 30,000.

Gas mileage for the vehicle is not as advertised. I am getting 20 mpg for mixed use driving (mostly highway). The epa estimates are 20/28.
