I'm just curious on why there isn't a recall on this 2006 Hummer H3 3.5 liter 5 cylinder Vertec engine. The Chevy Colorado 2004-2006 has the same exact engine and it was recalled. I think GM is the same manufacturer of this engine am i right? Will it get a recall?

GM and Hummer sent out a campaign in March of 08, but did not notify owners. I purchased new, took in for ticking noise in engine after first month. Hummer said no fix, but would not damage anything, and would let me know if a repair came available. I drive Hwy miles, so my warranty expired at 75,000. Car started to run rough and miss at an idle, when I took it to the dealer they found the bulletin, and told me it was only a notify so was not covered as a recall, and that usually warranty covered the 3500 in repairs. GM said my warranty was expired and would not pay. Was told the problem will get worse with time and I have to have the work done. Since Hummer told me at 72,000 that car was in perfect mechanical and physical shape, and I did not even need th first tune up until 100,000 miles this was a surprise. Now I have to pay 3500.00 and haven't reached the first tune up time yet, something is wrong here. I think GMC needs to step up and repair the car warranty or not, if they were aware of the problem a year before it happened. The paperwork in the campaign even gives a vin number range for 2006 H3 and Sierra models as well as one other model.
