Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

CarComplaints.com Notes: There's an emerging trend of transmission problem with the 2010 Elantra at fairly early mileage.

So far owners report having the transmission replaced under warranty but that won't hold up for much longer. It may be a bit premature but for now we're putting the "CLUNKER" rating on the 2010 Elantra just to be safe.

Speaking of being safe, you might not be unless Hyundai can figure out why their airbags aren't deploying.

After entering into a parking lot from a 30 mile per hour street with a brand new car of less than 48 hours, turned and jammed the brakes. Both the driver and passenger air bags deployed. No collision, so scratch on the car and nothing hit either under or on the side of the car.

Airbags did not deploy during a crash. My daughter was operating a Hyundai Elantra and rear-ended another vehicle. (approx speed 35) her vehicle was totaled. The airbags did not deploy, but the seatbelts saved her. Her chest is extremely bruised from the impact.
