My Hyundai dealer has refused to honor their 100,000miles, 10 years warranty" many times that I bring the car to be fixed under the warranty since the car was only 8years old and 76,000 miles since 2008. They refuse to fix the problems that I experienced by saying my car is not listed in any recall campaign. Unfortunately this year, on 10/11/12, I took my car for an annual state inspection for 2000 Hyundai Sonata and it fails the safety inspection. Here is what it says: ***vehicle memo*** vehicle is unsafe to drive...rear sub-frame has hole rotted through... due to the current financial situation, I don't know how I will get this car fixed because the car is now 115,000miles and 12 years old and I don't know if they will fix it. They have continuously refused to fix my car under warranty even when it was clearly within the warranty period and I was lucky then that I have been able to pay the fixes out of pocket but I don't have the luxury of paying out of pocket this time. I am in need of miracles now.

I have a 2000 Hyundai Sonata. I have had several sensors replaced in this car already. It is something electrical or another sensor, go figure. My wipers stopped working, and my wiper fluid pump also went out. Had local auto shop replace wiper fluid pump, they tried whatever they could, then the wipers would not stop working, so they took out the relay switch.then my wipers start working and I can turn them off/on with out the relay switch in. My car power locks are not working either, which they did before. Then my car would not start for next three/four days, had to have it jumped each day. So I thought it was my battery or alternator, had those tested, it is not either of them. Then my car the next couple of day starts a little better, but still barely starting, and sometimes when I start my car, the power locks lock automatically. My radio has always acted up by turning off and on when it wants and not saving the stations I save everyday, but now it goes from a station to my cd turning on, just by itself. I have seen other complaints about this on the internet, there is seriously something wrong with the electrical wiring or the sensors of this car, there needs to be a recall this could be real dangerous. You never know what is going to happen. Please help!

I pulled out into the road from a stop sign and my car loss power as there was oncoming traffic almost coming to a complete stop. I had to come completely off the gas pedal and stop, as I resumed the car began jerking and slowing resuming speed. I was almost rear ended with my kids sitting in the back seat. The also did the same thing again as I begin to drive up a incline/hill, it loss power. I experience this problem at least 3-4 times a week. I have researched that there was an electrical problem in 2000 Hyundai Sonata, V-6 cars and contacted the dealership and that stated that my car was not included in the recall. I was also told that I had several repairs done from previous recalls. I informed the customer service personnel that I had not received any notifications in the mail regarding recalls. I am very concerned for the safety of my family while driving the vehicle as well as my own. Could someone please help me in resolving this issue" I did let capital Hyundai look at my vehicle a while back and was told that my car need to have some sensors replaced at my own expense. If there was a recall on the 2000 model, should they not cover this matter? if the company is showing that there are possible repairs that have already been done based on recalls regarding sensors and electrical issues, are they responsible for making sure the problem is remedied if it didn't correct the problem"

Transmission input speed sensor failure, this problem is shockingly all over the internet, the sensor fails and if your on the highway, you suddenly slam down in speed to almost half your previous speed with a loud bang as the transaxle jumps from 4th gear to 2nd gear and the engine redlines. Due to the failed sensor telling the transaxle to downshift improperly. A inexperienced or less capable driver may have been thrown out of control from the sheer force of the impact when the transaxle mis-shifts from 4th to 2nd when the sensor malfunctions.

Car stalls out in low speed driving, idling, and or when back up. I have been able to avoid an accident with passengers in the vehicle or not in the vehicle while I was driving. I have had oil changed, fluids checked, alternator changed, spark plugs and wires also checked. The car has also had fuel system flushed and problem with stalling persist.

Engine stalled as I was turning in an intersection, I avoided a crash. Reported to dealer as it happened 3 more times. They replaced my battery and gave me a carfax report and denied any recalls, even though I showed them a printout of one on this website. Check engine light on several times, taken to auto store and put on diagnostic machine, maf sensor defective as stated on printout X2 separate occasions.still stalls at lights, and also stalls when either changing to reverse or vise versa. My kids are scared to ride with me. This stalling is happening on approx an every other day basis.dealer has been made aware and denies anything is wrong according to "their" diagnostic computer, yet will not allow me visual confirmation of such. I think I am unfortunately the victim of a lemon, and if I could afford to I would just drop it off at their doorstep and let the finance company know. By the way, finance co is aware of these problems and are not pleased at all of how the dealer is handling this because they got ripped off too. No parts have been replaced except for the battery which was unnecessary and they know it. Below I will give latest date of incident of stalling in intersection.

Two big problems, first the current the entire frame on the ride side has completely rusted out and the bottom fell out of the car - before this happened the car was pulling to the right the car was unable to be driven and a frame is hard to locate because I was told this is a common problem with these cars - a 2000 Hyundai shouldn't completely rust from the inside - there is no rust on the car and it was kept in a garage I am in communication with the company to see what will be done, judging from pas experiences - nothing second issue: We had many problems involving the electric system the car would go dead for no apparent reason the car alarm would get stuck and you couldn't get in the car or start it the dashboard lights go in and out (mostly out now).

. on 9/16/05 after coming home from work in the evening, my Hyundai 2000 Sonata had a electrical fire. Luckily I was getting out of the car when everything under the hood exploded into flames. I was able to move the car away from the house. The fire department came quickly and put the fire out. The car was totaled. Before this I didn't have any electrical or engine problems.

I am totally disgusted with my car. I have a 2000 Hyundai Sonata. I bought it in 2002. In 2002 I had to have 2 of my oxygen sensors replaced due to a recall. Then the following year my check engine light came on and I had to have another oxygen sensor replaced. Two weeks after that my check engine light came on again and I had to have my fourth oxygen sensor replaced. Now this year August 2005 my check engine light is on again and now this time my RPM's are sticking and idling high, my transmission is not going into gear right, and my car is stalling. Since I have had this car I have also had to have my pulley replaced, my airbag harness fixed, two of my windows have broke, and my stereo broke when I first bought my car. Now I can't drive my car at all and I don't have the money to get it fixed. I have seen a lot of complaints about the 2000 Hyundai Sonata and I think the manufacturer better do something for all of us quick or they are going to have a lot of lawsuits on their hands.

I have made five trips to the dealer with the same problem with my 2000 Hyundai Sonata which was purchased from allen turner Hyundai in pensacola, fl and is serviced by them due to it is still in warranty. My car makes a loud clonking sound and then stops and all power goes off. This happens normally when I go over 30-40 mph and has happened while driving 70 on the interstate and almost caused me to wreck on a bridge because I had no shoulder to go off on and cars almost slammed into the back of me. After it shuts down, it takes anywhere from 10 minutes to one hour to start again. It turns over but will not start after this happens. As said I have taken this 5 times to the dealer, this last time they kept it 5 days and found nothing. I had them drive it home. Prior they told me it was a computer error and was fixed, at first they said it was the computer board but then said the boss said it was just "bad battery cables." And cleaned off the cables. I had a new battery put in. They told me it was the air filter had jumped off the track and just needed put back on. The last 2 times they said the computer read nothing. I asked them about the gas line or water in the gas and they said they check all this, checked crank sensor, changed mass air flow sensor, "bad connection", tightened cable ends per tech line. The last time the invoice just tells me the computer reads ok. I had them drive it for 5 days for 218 miles but it did not reproduce per tech. I am going to get killed in this car and they honestly just don't take it seriously. I am a female and drive by myself alot and it scares me to lose control of my vehicle and for this to happen at night. I just can't seem to get the dealership to take it seriously. Help me.

I had my bearings replaced, my rear hub bearings. Now it is making to same noise and they now say it is not the bearings-they do not know what it is! my car idle sounds like is going to stall all the time when I am stopped. The car pulls around 5,20 and 50 mph like it just cannot get gas or the transmission is bad. I brought it in 2xs. They say they do not know what it is and cannot get anything on the diag machines. Now I am passed 60,000 miles. After having my car for 2 days (giving me no lender or rental) they found a problem at the last minute. Oil leaked from the valves into the spark plug wires into the coil pack and that is the car pulling problem. They say I have to pay $600 to fix it. This was on June 6,2003. I brought the car in for the idle which was not fixed and brought it in for this engine hesitation 2xs. Both times they did not and couldnot fix these problems. I have the receipts that they could not fix nor repeat these problems, but they are noted. I should not have to pay for these repairs!!!! this is not daily upkeep!! this must be defect!! I have a real problem with this car! I need to be contacted on this matter for Hyundai to pay for these repairs! I am having a difficult time on this matter. These parts need to be replaced now and I cannot and shouldn't have to pay for these parts or labor! I also have had my front driver window regulator fixed 4 times, my front passenger side regulator fixed once, my rear regulator fixed once. I had to buy a new battery for my car and a new headlight in the first year(Hyundai said I had to submit paperwork to see if they would vote to repay me for my cost of the battery). I had my air bag light going off(which now I never trust for it to go off when needed or even go off when not ). my paint is chipping everywhere! my front passenger window leaks all over my carpet inside floor. And many more problems! thank you, darlene liddane dliddane@earthlink.net 941-637-0802

Vehicle has been to dealer 5 times for stalling, recall on stalling performed November 2000. Dealer cannot remedy problem. The vehicle stalls intermnittently at stop sign, red lights, low speed driving, while backing out and on highways, dealer has attempted to fix this problem several times however has not been successful, even with recall 00V259001 repair the vehicle is not fixed, dealer has also replaced the air flow sensor connection, purge valve (on 6 occasions), tps sensor and extension, and other sensor assemblies. Lumbar support would not hold, dealer replaced. Trunk would not stay open on incline.
