Car would not start in November 2010 service rep said it was crank sensor. Service Rep had crank sensor changed but had me sign paper stating that I was requesting the "Timing belt" be changed also, $1,052 dollars later... He said belt had some fraying, ok I can understand that after 4 years "timing belt" may need to be replaced, but a lot of folks I spoke to said NO... 32,000 miles on car.

Car would not start in March, 2011 appeared to me that it was same problem - now service rep says it's fuel pump and ejectors. $880.00 later...Before I took car back to Dealer I had taken it to my nephew, who is mechanic, he said that he thought it was an electrical problem with computer. Against my better judgment I had no choice but to take it to Dealer so they could investigate computer. Dealer did not mention any electrical or computer problems. I guess in three months when my car will not start again they will tell me it's the computer!!! Just take advantage of me because I'm a woman and I have no other choice but to let them fix it.

On the upside car worked beautifully for the 6 years it was under warranty. I kept up on the maintenance schedule. What I don't understand is since I kept up with the maintenance schedule why am I having these problems. If car had 100,000 miles I could understand but it only has 34,000 miles. I really believe it's the dealership that wants to meet their "quota". It appears that any work I had done always cost over $1,000.00 I guess that's the quota per customer they need to meet to keep up with their overhead. Would I buy another "Hyundai Sonata" YES. Would I take it to the dealer to service or fix - NO!
