I am another Hyundai 2006 owner with the passenger seat belt on who paid $105 for the diagnostic which returned code B1706 having to do with the pretensioner and seat belt. Not according to Hyundai applicable to the recall. I now have to pay another $350 to have this repair done. This should be a recall. Shame on Hyundai, I bought this car partly because of the air bag system and the desire for a safe vehicle. How can they split hairs and claim this is not a widespread problem?

Hyundai Sonata passenger and main air bag failure 2006 vehicle. Brought vehicle in for passenger air bag failure/ recall. Hyundai state all working ok, air bag still not working. Hyundai did nothing to correct problem. Adult sits in front passenger and air bag light still does not work all the time. I am driving an unsafe vehicle were I don't feel confident the passenger air bag will deploy when it has too. What is Hyundai waiting for, a death due to the arrogance" November 2009 main air bag indicators come on.Hyundai does diagnostic and tells me seat belt tensioner failure. They refuse to pay for it, they replace seat belt buckles and tensioners. Main air bag problem corrected but passenger air bag still intermittent problem. I have been in contact with Hyundai Consumer Affairs and they refuse to pay for the repairs since it is out of warranty. The car was less than 3 years old with 74,353 miles. Is this a safety issue or a warranty issue? I paid for the repairs but I never know if the air bag system will work properly. What rights do I have in this matter since Hyundai is not taking responsibility? also there is a recall on the Hyundai azer 2006-2009 for failure of the seat belt tension sensors. This is the same problem that I experienced in my 2006 Sonata. Who is to say that they used the same part in my vehicle" I would appreciate if you contact me and let me know how I get reimbursed for the repairs and get my car save again.

My 2006 Hyundai Sonata has had 2 failures of the driver's sun visor. The 1st was replaced under warranty; the vehicle is no longer under warranty. In each case it has dropped into the fully deployed position while driving, causing a sudden and unexpected loss of vision.

Replaced brakes with only 26,000 miles, then again at 37,000 miles, now im at 41,000 miles and my brakes are making noises again. I also had to have the motor replaced in the driver side door window, it stopped going up and down in the first year I had the car. I had to have the rear window replaced due to the antenna in the window being broken, when I turned the rear defroster on the radio had alot of static. Since the window has been replaced it no longer defrost, I brought it back to the dealer several times and they tell me it works fine. They tested it inside a warm building. I also have an issue which the dealer says there is no problem, when driving and either the air conditioner/heater is on and lights at same time, when you brake the lights dim and the conditioner/heater goes low, also the interior light will dim as well. I have taken the car back to the dealer several times they say there is no problem. Im very disgusted with the vehicle.

Had car in shop in for the dash to be replaced due to cracking all the way around the air bag compartment on the passenger side in 2007.this a 2006 model Hyundai Sonata-dash is cracked again in the same area as before completely around the air bag compartment fear this could cause injury or air bag to deploy without accident dealer states it is owners problem & expense as it has been just over 2 years since replaced the first time and there is no recall issued for this problem-feel that this is a defect in material & a safety hazard that could cause an accident or injury.
