Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

The contact owns a 2009 Hyundai Sonata. While driving 50 mph downhill with the cruise control engaged, the vehicle accelerated up to 80 mph. The dealer test drove the vehicle and confirmed the failure, but stated that nothing could be done to correct the issue. The contact called Hyundai customer support and they also could not assist. He believes that driving the vehicle would be a safety risk due to the manufacturer defect. He also believes that a recall should be issued as well as a remedy for the failure. The contact discovered other consumers that were experiencing the same issue with the same type of vehicle. The failure mileage was 16,000 and current mileage was 17,000. Updated 10/06/09.
