AS I TRIED STOP IT I FELT MY BRAKE PEDDLE GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I WAS ABLE TO PULL MY CAR OFF THE ROAD AND SIT UNTIL I HAD A TOW TRUCK COME TOW IT HOME. I HAVE MY CAR AT CHRENSHAW HYUNDIA. I HAVE ALSO BEEN TRYING TO GET MY CAR SERVISED THROUGH THEM AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN BOOKED U. THAT CAUSES A LOT OF CAR issues when you have to wait on an appointment. I really need my car fixed and I do not have the kind if funds that they are asking.

My safety was put at risk and the life of others as a chime sound began to sound and the "check brake/Hybrid System Warning" was displayed on the dashboard. This caused the car to press the emergency breaks on its own slowing the vehicle to a complete halt on freeway. This malfunction could have caused a multi vehicle collision. This was taken for inspection and Scanned with GDS and C1235 Pressure sensor, is internal in HECU and cannot be repaired, HECU must be replaced. The vehicle is unsafe to drive and pedal sinks which feels like car does not stop. The output signal voltage of the pressure sensor is out of the specified range, the monitoring starts 1 sec after power up. The cause of this could be that there is a faulty pressured sensor and/or open or short of pressure sensor circuit. The pressure sensor installed in the HECU, converts the brake pressure to judge the drivers brake intention when the ESC program is operated. When pressure is applied to the sensor, the resistance of the sensor's strain gauge changes. The change in resistance changes the voltage output from the sensor. A fail safe inhibits the ESC/DBC control and allow the ABS/EDB control. The ESC/DBC warning lamp is activated. A safety recall should be established by this establishment as other Hyundai Sonata Hybrids are having the same malfunctions and are having to repair costs out of their own pockets, $4,300 given quote.

*** Normal driving, brakes went out while driving. *** Car was recently repaired by dealer related to hybrid power relay system failure - fuse and precharge relay failed and forced car to pull over while at highway speeds to side of road then left driver stranded on side of road. This was repaired supposedly. Now just a couple weeks later under normal street driving condition brakes totally went out. Stop light then let off brake and car started beeping and making noises - check engine light, brake light, LCD displayed BRAKE warning and flashed "HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING! Safely Stop and Do Not Drive". The car was unresponsive to acceleration pedal and only slowly moved then puttered a little bit but I managed to get it out of the intersection and into a parking lot under its own power. Brake pedal went all the way to the floor. I used Emergency Brake to stop and park then had it towed. Could have been disaster if I was on highway - which I was at stop light to turn onto when the failure occurred. I am scared of this car now. 2 times in a month it has forced driver to pull over and then become unresponsive. No brakes is the last straw. This is a dangerous car now.

There are several incidents showing online with the same dangerous problem. at home going into my apartment garage the car just started rolling back onto on coming traffic. the brakes just stopped working, I swerved to avoid being hit. The car is at the dealership. There was not any working for this ever expensive problem,

The brake pedal bushing has completely deteriorated and caused my car to be able to shift gears without touching the brake. It also caused me to be unable to use cruise control (which I found out driving down the interstate thank god I wasn-€™t in an accident) and caused me to be unable to park my car. Caused my battery to die and left me stranded at work. No pieces to remedy to issue are available. And Hyundai has said there was a recall with earlier models (up to year 2011) my car is 2013 and is obviously effected. I have now had a recall on y seat belts, air bags, engine, seat belt anchors, fuel line transmission fluid sensor and now my brakes. I-€™m not sure what is actually ok with this model at this point!!!

I do notice sometimes when I press on the gas, the car looses energy, don't accelerate. It's like the car mph goes down to zero while I'm driving the car which is scary. I step on gas, and it don't move, then it picks up and speed off.

Brake pedal went to the floor. Horrible grinding sound from all the wheels. Chiming. Hybrid system warning. Was driving and had to pull to the side of the street. Found out that the the hydraulic power unit is at fault and had to be replaced. My car is out of warranty and I had to pay over 2000 out of pocket. Complained to Hyundai costumer service and also to the BBB and they all told me to file a report with you. This is an ongoing issue with the Sonata hybrid since 2019. The information is found in Hyundai forum website. Https://www.Hyundai-forums.com/threads/brakes-failure-on-Sonata-hybrid.155580/page-5 this issue should please be investigated for recall purposes.

When turning the steering wheel I hear a clicking noise like something is loose or broken. There regularly is a burning smell like hot plastic is melting and the brake light constantly burns out. When changing the bulb I noticed the casing appears burned and it is difficult to remove the bulb for replacement. I smell the burning scent when I stop and exit the vehicle. The clicking noice is whenever I turn the steering wheel.

While driving on the highway, I've had several instances where I push the gas pedal down and the car does not accelerate. This is a known issue in other Hyundai vehicles with the brake pedal stopper and I'm wondering if my 2013 Hyundai Sonata is having this same problem that was recalled on many other vehicles.

Brake lights remain on, even after vehicle is parked and key is removed, draining the battery. Brake lights remain on throughout normal operation of vehicle and only extinguish when the negative battery terminal is removed from battery. When power is re-applied, the brake lights are lit- even with no key on the ignition. Hyundai believes the brake pedal stopper pad material can deteriorate, which allows the stop light switch plunger to remain extended when the brake pedal is released by the driver. They recalled model years 2011-2012, but the defect persists in model years far beyond this- past the 2014 model Sonata that I have discovered.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floor without warning. The contact's husband inspected the brake pedal and replaced the brake pads and rotors however, the failure recurred 20,000 miles later. The vehicle was taken to antwerpen Hyundai columbia (12440 auto drive, clarksville, md 21029) where the contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

Urgent. 1) defective engine per Hyundai's admission. I will not accept a software 'bandaid' approach to patch to my main ECM to resolve this problem. I did go in to sheppard motors to get this bandaid applied to my car. This is a bandaid, and shame on Hyundai. My engine is warrantied through July 2023. I've been around. 2) my car is brand new, with only 27,400 miles on her 3) the latest recall on both the low and high pressure fuel line/ hoses etc. Should I wait for a fire here? dear NHTSA: Please look up all of the recalls and extended warranties on my vehicle. Unacceptable to me. I believe that no quality control whatsoever was practiced and applied on the factory production lines. Hyundai Focus -- big money. Pressuring factory workers to put in any part they can find. I have some stories here about the audio system on my car that will absolutely blow your collective minds. I've been around. 4) Hyundai long since sent me extended warranties on a) the entire engine B) brake pedal stopper C) front coil springs D) seat belt tensioners (drivers tensioner was already replaced, and yet, it still does not retract completely when exiting the vehicle pray tell, what gives Hyundai" new car here. My greatest concerns about this new car that I paid for in cash -- and was defrauded in that process as well -- I could have bought a Honda for much less, and never have any problems. I am rather frustrated here and pray for government advocacy and intervention. Thank you so very much. #1 I need a brand new motor, the whole motor, which has been thoroughly quality control tested and proven, and which has been completely tested. My motor is very, very noisy. So, do I wait for the rod bearings to fail completely and stall out my car, causing a fatal crash" #2 I need both my low and high pressure fuel lines and hoses, etc. Replaced

While driving the car, sometimes it does not respond to the pushing of the accelerator thereby either slowing down or hesitating creating scary and hazardous conditions on the road. This happens while driving on the interstate at high speeds or on the city roads in slow traffic. The behavior is unpredictable and uncontrollable. Also, the brake light stays on even when the brake pedal is not touched which is dangerous while driving. Upon research on line, this is not an isolated case but has happened to a number of Hyundai vehicles. It seems this has to do with either the rubber stopper of the brake switch or the failure of the brake switch or both. I called Hyundai and was informed that no recalls have been issued to fix this problem but the warranty on the stopper has been extended to 15 years and unlimited miles. They should extend this warranty not just to the stopper but to the whole switch assembly. It is obvious that Hyundai has acknowledged the problem with the brake switch assembly but is not informing the owners of the potential safety hazard caused by the failure of this assembly. In reality they should issue a recall to replace this assembly.
