Infiniti uses about a qt of motor oil every 500 miles,that is bad. Also had 2003 Murano, same thing.

Excessive oil consumption, losing about 1Qt per 1,000-2,000 miles. Appears to be a common problem on this engine. Some owners had multiple engines replaced, but doesn't look like there is an easy fix for this problem. Design defect? Possibly.

Update from Sep 21, 2017: After many years of just adding oil, currently the car have 147k miles and is consuming about 1Qt per 750 miles. Minor annoyance, but nothing else is wrong with the car. Just drive it and park it. Let's see how much longer this car will last me.
