One day, the brakes suddenly ceased to work while we were driving on a residential street. We almost hit the car in front of us at 25 MPH; someone could have been injured or killed, we're lucky that the brakes didn't fail while we were on the highway. The brake system was not due to be replaced for the next couple of years. I don't remember how much they cost to replace, but it was the normal price for replacing the brake components.
