I purchased my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo used in April 2012, about a week after I had the vehicle it started stalling out while I was driving, loosing complete power for a few moments then would jerk and continue going. I also noticed when I would hit a small bump and try to apply the brakes I heard a grinding noise and it would not stop for a few feet, even with the brake all the way to the floor. Also when I stop I hear a popping noise in the rear, everytime I stop. Now the vehicle is completely dying at random times. It will die when I am on the interstate going a steady speed, or accelerating. Also when I come close to a complete stop to turn the vehicle will die. I put it in neutral and it starts right back up and jerks while speeding up. I have almost T-boned someone due to the car dying and the loss of power steering. Also I have almost been rear ended numerous times because of the car stalling out and also dying. Also after having the car a couple weeks the speedometer and odometer quit working and the light for the speedometer will not work either.

Vehicle frame on 2001 Isuzu Rodeo is badly rusted. Have maintained car well and was last inspected in August, 2011, with no problems noted. In April, 2012, vehicle was in shop for brake work when the mechanic noticed that the frame was badly rusted. Have brought the vehicle to a welding shop and have been informed that the vehicle is unsafe to drive and cannot be repaired.

I have had many problems with this car. 1. servo valve 12/2005, 2. door lock, 2005, check engine light, gas meter problems, replace gas tank 1/2008, 3. replace alternator 9/2008, now my transmission is not working nor is my egr and evap sensor. I only have 58,000 miles on this car. Also one of the oem brake pads fall out of the holding bracket and got stuck between the caliper and the rotor. Nothing but problems with this SUV.

After having my Rodeo for a little over 2 years, I've been having braking problems which no one seems to believe. While making an emergency brake, the car shakes very badly and instead of stopping, will slide. The brake released instead of stopping after the slide.

When braking at low speeds, brake pedal drops, feels like it won't stop and there is a loud, rumbling noise coming from the brakes. Happens intermittently. I have taken it to several different dealers and they all say they can't fix the problem if they can't duplicate it. The diagnosis test always shows there is nothing wrong.
