I hit another vehicle from behind (the front right, driver's side of my vehicle struck the right rear of the other vehicle) at about 30 miles per hour. Because my airbag failed to deploy, I suffered bilateral jaw fractures and lacerations to the inside and outside of my lower lip area where my teeth went through my skin (10-12 sutures were needed on the inside and outside for this laceration) and another 15 sutures were needed to repair a laceration resulting from the inside of my mouth ripping apart where the lower gums meet the skin of my chin. Because the impact of the accident was enough to total my vehicle right at the driver's area where I was seated, I believe the airbag was defective since it should have deployed and protected my face from these injuries.
