Three or four weeks ago I received the following note from Isuzu: "Isuzu motors limited has determined that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model year 2000 Troopers having 4-wheel drive and automatic transmissions equipped with tod (torque-on-demand). In certain types of high-speed, frontal crashes, an interior fuel line and fuel hose can be separated, allowing fuel to leak from the vehicle. Fuel leakage could cause a fire and result in serious injuries or death". I tried to contact two Isuzu dealers in my area. One in san francisco and one in santa rosa, which is where I purchased the vehicle. The dealer in S.F. said they were too busy to take care of this, and the one in santa rosa did not even know what I was talking about but promised to look into it and get back to me. A week and a half later I still did not hear from them. When I called the Isuzu care team, I was told that all they can do is help me locate dealers in my area but can not force them to do anything - basically useless. This sounds like a potentially serious problem that is not receiving the proper attention.
