Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. The contact owns a 2004 Jaguar X-type. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked with the parking brake engaged when it rolled away. The parking brake was loose and had to be engaged abruptly in order for the brake to catch. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who adjusted the parking brake but the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to a private mechanic, who stated that the brake caliper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure was not reported to the manufacturer. The approximate failure and current mileage was 134,000.
