CarComplaints.com Notes: There's no way around it, the Cherokee's transmission is junk. There's no other explanation for why a vehicle, usually with under 40,000 miles, would have so many complaints

Cherokee Trailhawk 2.4L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 44,550 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

This is my third Jeep Cherokee. My last one was a 2000 Cherokee Sport (Transmission failed 164000 mi). Ironically, it appears that many of the suspension issues I had with my 2000 at 70,000mi, carried over into my 2014 Trailhawk much sooner and are nearly identical (i.e. Brakes Suspension and Rotors). The brake rotors in my Trailhawk warped at about 15000 miles or so, and I had to replace the struts and stabilizer links at 48,200 mi. (Never was off road) My 2000 did not require this service until it had 100000+miles on it.

It is my belief, that the above mentioned recurrent issues, speak directly to poor engineering and quality management at Stellantis (Formerly FCA). I have been a loyal Jeep Cherokee owner for more than 28 years, but the quality of engineering that exist in Honda's, Toyota's and Nissan's are appearing more and more attractive.

Cherokee Lattitude 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,200 miles

My 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude has quite a few recalls but one of the two that I have really experienced is the brakes. This doesn't happen a lot but when it does it scary. Push on the brakes and it seems a little like there is tension and then it seems to catch and feel like it might stick. Now when driving and the transmission seems to jerk foreword I really hate that. I have tried driving very slow to a stop and a little after and it isn't on the speed it is just the vehicle. I'm will never buy another Jeep. I have had so many recalls on this car can't believe it, and to take off bring it in to the shop that is a big inconvenience

Cherokee Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

Brakes grinding and vibrating through pedal, had to have rotor discs ground down. I stopped using Chapman dealership in Horsham PA, because of incompetence at the service department and lies about the cause of problems.

Cherokee Sport 2.4L Ll

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,500 miles

The front end braking system is uneven and the truck will shimmy when trying to stop! The rotors already have rust on them and I don't live anywhere near salt water! Is anyone else experiencing this problem! The shimming is worse (much) at higher braking speeds! I've never had a vehicle do this before! The problem started at approx. 10,500 miles!
