While driving down the road at 50mph with my trailhawk edition Jeep, the roof rail bar ripped out of the roof of the car sending my kayak rack and 35 pound kayak down the center of the road. Chrysler/Jeep states they are not led to believe the incident was a manufacturing responsibility. Lives could have been lost. The Jeep dealership tried to tell me they found documentation that the rails are not to be used unless they have a manufactured crossbar with a maximum weight of 150 pounds. My kayak rack has a crossbar and the weight of the rack was maybe 15 pounds and the kayak itself was 35 pounds. There was no where in my owners manual that states I cannot use my roof rails. Only a safety statement saying nothing should be screwed into my roof for airbag and safety purposes. Even with manufactured crossbars they wouldn't be able to screw into my roof so they would not have held my roof rail into the roof. The roof is very thin and there are clear holes where the bar completely ripped out of the roof. If there was a vehicle behind me people could have been very hurt. Chrysler sent an investigator to do a report on the vehicle they sent me a one paragraph letter stating they decline any assistance associated with this incident. Safety concerns for other people on the road and other Jeep owners was not addressed. At the time of the incident I was on a back road going 50 miles an hour with no wind gusts or any reason for this to occur. This incident occurred on August 7 and even though it was reported to the dealership on the eighth I have received no help. I am attaching photos of the kayak safely mounted on the kayak rack the day before the incident and the damages to my car.

Driving along on a rural road, no traffic around me. Coming down a hill and out of a curve, hit a slight bump in the road when sunroof glass exploded, sounding like a shot gun going off inside the car. Glass came down alll over the passenger compartment. Sunroof is visibly pushed up and out of the roof with no impacts from exterior. Dealer is telling me this is not covered under the factory warranty despite the fact that there was no external force which caused the damage. They say that pressure can build up inside the car when the A/C is running and this can sometimes happen, which seems indicative of a known issue. I looked all through the owner's manual and find no reference to the possibility this could occur with normal use of the A/C.

Bought 2015 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk 2/2015 brand new. Started having creaking coming from sunroof area about 2 months in. Dealer states no fix for it. Took vehicle in for oil change at 9000 miles. Dealer performed 3 updates at that time. Received car back and auto start/stop light came on and went off several times. Also noted hard shifting and acceleration issues at that time. Took to dealer and they did "software updates." Got vehicle back "fixed, " drove it 3 blocks and lights came on again with same acceleration and shifting issues. Straight back to dealer. Ended up getting entirely new transmission at 9000 miles! picked up "fixed" vehicle again and noted severe jerking with slow stops and sluggish acceleration. Back to dealer for yet another software updated. Have back again now. Can now feel vehicle when it is idling. Feels like it has a mild shake or shudder. Also having occasional problems with sluggish acceleration particularly when turning. Also continue to have loud creaking from sunroof which is just getting worse. Scared to drive vehicle as am afraid it simply won't accelerate one of these times. Heaven forbid it is in rush hour traffic with a left turn. Vehicle is not reliable, have absolutely no faith in it.

Was traveling to work and there was a car ahead of me. This person had out of state plates and was not paying attention, speeding up and then slowing down several time. The person behind me and passed both of us. In fact he was the one the I ran into. Then when I approached the next town to get on the 4 lane, there is a turn off that everyone uses to get to the school. I don't remember what happened to the green out of state car, I think he did a quick left turn in front of me, and then I hit the guy that passed both of us. He was stopped waiting for the car ahead of him to turn. Needless to say, I was charged with failing to stop in an assured clear distance. The sun was bright and I seen no brake or turn signals. The front end of my 10 day old vehicle sustained over 8600 dollars in damage so far. My concern is why did the air bags not go off at 50 mph when I hit the back of his 2012 Buick? I was taken by ambulance to be checked out as the seat belt hurt my chest and possible broken finger. Later that night I returned to the hospital for a head ct and chest xray for dizziness and headaches. I still have head aches when I bend over and will most likely consult my doctor for possible whip lash. The other driver was not hurt, but was told his vehicle was going to be total loss. We just bought this and now I am concerned about safety! both the adjustor and I were concerned why they didn't deploy. The whole front end of my vehicle is destroyed. From bumper back to radiator, which was destroyed.

I pulled into a parking spot located inside a concrete parking structure. While conversing with others in the car, the engine auto shutoff engaged. I thought the care was off so I began to exit the car. When I let off the break the car lurched forward into the wall causing damage to the right headlight and bumper. My complaint is the auto shutoff feature on my Jeep should be default to the off position and turned on by the operator. I have had numerous incidences where I almost collided with the car in front of me when I am at a stop light behind other vehicles or in parking lots. The vehicle will shutoff automatically and when I let off the brake, or the car is stopped for a period of time, the car starts and moves forward without applying the throttle because you are in drive. This causes you to react to avoid hitting something in front of you. I would prefer to engage this feature manually if I need it.

Vehicle is equipped with the collison avoidance system. On the date of the accident the system failed to work. The vehicle was travelling westbound between 5-7 mph at a high school parking lot, the collison avoidance system was on, the front of the vehicle struck the rear of another vehicle. The system did not deploy. The vehicle suffered $3000 dollars of frontend damage. After vehicle was repaired, owner of vehicle conducted tests of the collison avoidance system at 5, 10, and 15 mph with large objects (boxes) placed at minimum of 100 feet from the vehicle. The system never deployed and the objects were struck. At the time of the test Jeep informed owner all systems, including were fixed and fully functional. On three separate occasions between the following dates June 26-July 05, 2015 the collison avoidance system activated with no objectives in front of the vehicle at distance greater than 200 feet. The vehicle was travelling on two occasions on city streets at approximately 20 mph and once on the highway at 55 mph.

We were driving down interstate, going speed limit of 70 mph, when all of sudden heard a loud pop, sounded much like gunshot. Could hear the air flow. Once we got stopped on side of road, found the sunroof completely shattered. When we called dealership was told we would have to claim on our insurance. Chrysler dealership said wasn't their fault, and since it was not windshield had to file against insurance claim as accident. Even though dealership could not find anything that had impacted the glass in sunroof cavity, nothing but glass. Service manager stated " maybe a ball or pine cone hit it" I asked going down interstate at 70 mph? they refused to even investigate. So I had to file a claim against insurance and pay my deductible. Seriously the sunroof just shattered. Glass went everywhere. Had to replace the interior of the sunroof also!

A car turned left as I was going straight and struck me at the front left side of the vehicle. The impact broke my tired completely off the vehicle smashing both the front and the entire side of my car with enough damage for me to have to kick my door multiple times in order to exit the car. After the first impact I lost control since a tire was missing and the vehicle hit a semi truck head on. No air bags deployed. Car is totaled and has frame damage. I contacted Jeep and they have since done an investigation and told me I was not going fast enough for air bags to deploy and are now not returning my calls. When the investigator called me after he inspected the vehicle he was shocked that I said the car was totaled. The car was brand new I had it for 15 days. There was a recall performed on the air bags the day before and when reviewing the receipt showed that they worked on the car for less than 15 mins but had my car for 6 hours? stating the recall was previously performed even though when I brought my car in to have a security system installed few days prior they said the recall needed to be performed and I set the appointment up. There is no way I was not going fast enough to have my safety features work in my brand new vehicle but I was going fast enough for my axle to snap and my tire to become disconnected from the vehicle. Jeep will not return my calls so I must take further action. Please assist me and take this seriously no one should feel unsafe in their vehicles.

Shortly before reaching her destination, the driver of our vehicle smelled an odor, but couldn't determine what it was. She continued onto her destination as it was just up the street. She parked the vehicle and was preparing to exit. Before she could exit the vehicle, a witness saw smoke coming from under the vehicle. She quickly exited the vehicle and saw the smoke. The smoke then turned black and she saw flames. The vehicle then burst into flames.
