Tuesday evening when I left work the car was hesitant in turning over, and when I shifted into reverse there was a long delay before the vehicle moved. I have been having transmissions issues (posted in a different place) and tried to shrug it off. Welp, you guessed it - Wednesday morning the car wouldn't start and I randomly got a message saying the engine temp was too hot (mind you the vehicle had been sitting for 10 hours overnight in cool weather),

Got it jumped and brought it to the dealer. After 2 days, they told me they replaced the battery because it must have shorted internally. I asked about the alternator, head gaskets..and was told they don't check every gasket like a safety inspection and just went with the battery not holding a charge. Okay, fine, we will try a new battery. But a 2.5 year old vehicle with 33k miles just randomly not starting should maybe be checked more thoroughly. (Read into the transmission issue under transmissions!)

This is the 2nd time this month the car has been in the shop. Thank god it is still under warranty but I will be car shopping before the warranty is up and the issues continue.

I purchased a 2016 Jeep Cherokee and since day one the start/stop feature never have worked properly and it wasn't until recently that, I was told by my current dealer that, it is the backup battery and that Jeep have had problems with the manufacturer and supposedly Jeep is looking for another manufacturer but, I feel Jeep always knew this and did not inform the dealers and consumers. This is been happening for 2 years now and the Jeep representative Yeraldin which phone number and extension I previousy provided, have said to me that she have some people on her list and I am not one of them and at the time of this report/complain, I haven't received any information, update either from the dealer or Jeep. If other consumers Jeep owners are having the same problem then; why Jeep fail to report the situation as a "recall"? The start/stop and backup battery is not a critical problem that might stop the car from functioning but, If I decide to sell or give the car on trade-in people are going to ask me about it and I'm afraid I might lose money/value because of the feature not working.

I was leaving for work but my car wouldn’t turn on. It had the malfunction emblem, also said engine is over heating. Got it towed to the nearest dealership.

Car two weeks old, battery died. Dealership fixed faulty wires, so they say. Car has since died in driveway four more times. Each time car flatbedded to dealership and other than replacing the original dead battery they claim there is nothing wrong with vehicle. Computer test showed no problems. Then can someone tell me why a brand new car keeps killing the battery. No, we didn't leave anything on by mistake. When asking the dealership why if nothing is wrong with my car does the battery drain and die, they say they don't know. Can't invoke lemon law because they haven't serviced car since computer says nothing is wrong. Don't know when I will wake up to a dead battery again. Getting nowhere with dealership. Help! Anyone have any advice?
