My car was overheating while stuck in traffic for 6 minutes, got home and checked the fluids - all good. The next day on the way to work (windows were open) the car began to overheat while stopped at a traffic light, I brought it to my mechanic who said that the "fan motor" was not operating due to the computer getting fried. How??? Anyway, after further inspection, my mechanic found the transmission dipstick STUCK in the fan motor, it had broken off completely and that caused the computer to fry due to the lack of the fan operating. $1100 later and now the same problem. When I called Chrysler/Jeep, and told them that I took out the extended warranty, they said it was for the engine, not the computer that could possibly seize the engine. So now I am replacing the fan motors to see if that is what keeps shorting the computer. $400 to fix that!
I should of stuck with my Wrangler!!!!
