I've owned my '99 Grand Cherokee from day one and never really had any major problems until now. The track/frame on the driver's seat broke three years ago. I had it welded and it broke again. Getting a replacement part is easy, but the labor cost is high. Chrysler should have built this better, since Jeeps are supposed to be Trail Rated!

I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. If you own one of these cars, be prepared for the driver's seat to come loose from the car. It is so dangerous, I cannot believe that people are not being killed by this.

The problem is that Jeep will blow you off and tell you the part you need to fix it is discontinued and that there is nothing they can do for you. Truth is there is a fix available online at jeepseatbracket.com, but the dealership will not order it or install it for you. This is not like some normal wear and tear problem. This is a bad defect and should be recalled and fixed by Chrysler. To think they could take all that taxpayer money for a bailout but could care less if they build a product that might very well cost your life to drive! They know of the problem. It is well documented on the internet and at NHTSA. If anyone ever starts a class action lawsuit please get a hold of me. I want in! For them to let this go on knowing people could be killed is just evil!
