My vehicle stalls out randomly while driving at different speeds. It has happened turning off of an off ramp from the freeway and while driving strait down a city street. Also a couple of time I parked and turned it off and it would not turn back on for 10-15 mins. All the incidents of stalling out, after I wait 10-15 mins it will start back up. There are no warning lights on the dash.

Vehicle stall's while driving regardless of speed, outside air temperature...engine temperature etc. On some occasions if I slip it into neutral I can restart but mostly I have to pull to the side of road and wait a few min and then it starts...the vehicle is well maintained and I have spent thousands trying to resolve the issue. I have had the PCM, cel, relays, starter, alternator, battery, fuel filter (in-line), electrical system diagnostics, tune up, oxygen sensor replaced...dealer and my regular garage are stumped. There are thousands of posts on forms on the internet complaining of the same issue!!! it seems to me this is quite dangerous at highway speed with no forewarning the gauges sling cw then ccw to zero RPM and zero mph although still coating at hwy speed you have no power steering the car is off...note it can stall just after starting while stationary or moving or 1/2hr later or more I might stop for something (gas, groceries etc) car running great come back to the car and it wont start...iit seems totally random! note this 1st started @ 140000 miles and is still occurring 5000 miles later... sometime it will drive fine for a few days sometime it stalled at least once while driving...

Purchased a vehicle from carmart in 09-29-2015 a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee a couple of months later the vehicle shut off while I was on the highway, it started right back up. I contacted carmart and on January 82016 vehicle was sent to a shop parking clean where they change my tp sensor. It ran fine for a few more months and began to shut off again in parked, driving down a residential area and even on the highway. Back to carmart 6-9-2016 car went to sears fixed throttle body, radiator got car back on 6-16-2016 on 6-18 back at sears cars do fuel filter 6-20-2016 car still shut off agreed to take back to shop on 6-28-2016 as of July 5th 2016 still have not received my car back. Unsure what is the source of problem however when it shuts off the RPM goes all the way to zero. This is endangering me and my family however I still have to pay my car note

My fuel tank shield rusted out and the fuel tank fell out while I was driving. I heard a dragging sound and pulled in a parking lot and when I looked under Jeep, I seen that my fuel tank fell out partially on one side, while the other side was held up with the rest of the rust shield plate. Looks like nothing is holding it in place other then the shield plate. Read up on some forums and seems to be a common problem with 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.

I would have put igniotion/key as the affected parts, but that's not an option. So I'm driving down the road, and all of sudden it just stops running. Literally on southfield road. Think it was just a fluke I continued to try and drive it. Because the first time it started right back up. But now, it turns off at a light, during a turn, going 25mph, 45mph... basically whenever it feels like. I have a son that is a permit only driver, and can't allow him for safety reasons to be driving this vehicle. I went to the mechanic and this is what I was told, there is a part in the ignition system that sends a signal to the chip in the key. When that stops sending the signal the vehicle turns off. Great anti-theft idea! it's so dangerous. Mechanic says the part is $100+ and then the original keys 'may not' reprogram, which means an extra $60 per key, plus programming. There is a reason the dealer keeps it in stock, gotta know it fails. This part should be recalled before someone gets hurt because the vehicle decided to stop running on the expressway.

The ac in summer is cool on the driver and warm on the passenger> in winter the driver freezes and the passenger gets the warm air. Just after purchasing vehicle I came across on the web an article showing the problem and their quick fix by cutting an opening in the box on the passenger side and changing the door. The dealer version repair was shown with the Jeep dash completely removed.

I went into jim brown auto sales on Friday 1/29/2011 to purchase a vehicle. The sale representative [xxx] advised me that of the list of cars I brought in the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee was the best one. While processing paper work. I asked [xxx] for a copy of the vehicle report. He acknowledge but never provided the documentation. I drove the vehicle to an near by auto shop (M-L) to have the vehicle looked at. On the way to M-L I heard the car knocking. I was advised that there are numerous issues with the vehicle. Being the front drive shaft, transmission, and transfer case. I advised the seller once I found out. I was told by the person who picked up the phone that I will be called back regarding this matter. No one called. On Wednesday, February 1, I drove to brakeway to have the brakes looked at because the lights came on. Brakeway advised the same issues as M-L. I took the vehicle back to jim brown auto and requested the truck be looked at. They accepted the truck but refused to look at the issues that were pointed out. I just need some justice regarding this vehicle. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I began having issues with my heating/cooling in spring 2007. The A/C wasn't cold and recharging it only helped for a couple weeks. I took it to the shop and they replaced something to keep the air cold. Then the fan stopped blowing. The same shop took it in and got the fans blowing. Winter 2007 the passenger side heat stopped working and blew ice cold air instead. The driver's side blows hot air. The shop said the blend door motor would need to be replaced. The passenger side blend door motor replacement would require removal of the dash for access. Winter 2008, after recent replacement of the fan, I am now driving with no pressure coming from the vents and the passenger side air trickling cold air. I'm very tired of paying for this.
