The in-dash heater/ac blend door is malfunctioning causing air flow not to be properly diverted between lower dash vents, dashboard vents and defroster vents. This is creating an unsafe condition whereby the windshield will not clear in rainstorms and will not stay defrosted in winter driving. A search on the internet and along with discussions with a local dealer working with Jeep for many years has led me to understand that this is a long-known and very common defect with Jeep Grand Cherokee. Prices to replace this blend door have ranged from $1000 to $1500 due to the fact that this is a very labor intensive replacement. I contact Chrysler assistance and they suggested that I contact you to identify this safety concern so that perhaps a technical service bulletin (tsb) could be issued and Chrysler would address the defective blend door for consumers experiencing this safety issue.

My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee front driver seat track has broke and been repaired and broke 3 times now in a year. It started out as little wobble like bolt loose, which is what I thought it was. My mechanic pulled the seat out and found the crack and broken metal. Took it to and certified welder and had it welded. He told my the metal was cheap and that he has welded 3 others with the same issue. The last time he welded it for me he added some metal which lasted 6 months before breaking in another spot. Now I just have the back wedged up with block of wood and have no adjustment in my seat anymore. Talked to dealer after first break and was told they new of some problem but wasn't covered under warranties or no recalls. New replacement track are expensive and made the same as original, which has been known to break too. Sounds like alot of people are having these issues from what I have found on-line. Please recall this issue for everyone safety, and before someone gets killed.

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited and this is the second that I have worked on and I have noticed that the license plate lights wiring harness seem to melt on the bulbs and I think over time this could become a big risk over time. The harness is very hard to replace and I don't think many people would notice cause of the location. I have been burned by the hot rubber type plastic. This is the third time I have had to replace the lights over the years and every time it just gets worst. Once on my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo the light hosing was burned.
