Takata air bag and fuel tank explosion on impact. As of the date of this report, I did not received any document from Chrysler concerning theses 2 safety issue with my Jeep. We are located in South Florida. I've call some Chrysler dealer in my area, and they say that there are no recall for my car concerning theses two safety issue. Nothing has happen so far, but I don't want to continue playing the odd that noting will happen to the life of my wife, my children and myself when driving the Jeep in Florida. I will appreciate receiving any input from the NHTSA in that matter, and also a recall notice from Chrysler to fix the two safety issue. The soonest will the best. Thank you for addressing my concern.

I can't put gas in the tank unless it is at the very slightest flow or it just shuts off and sometimes spews gas back out at me. I have been soaked with gasoline more than once. I can't even put it on the lowest setting on the handle. I saw the recalls and called the dealer who said that they know that this is a manufacturers defect but they won't do anything because my VIN isn't in the recall. This is obviously a fire hazard and I can't believe we can't get this fixed.

The contact owns a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the fuel tank was hanging lower than normal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they advised him that the skid plate that held the tank in place was completely rusted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired and the manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 153,000.

I have been getting the run around form customer service at Chrysler. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and was planning on buying another. But>>> comments: --------- my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4L engine stalls when turning left if the fuel level in the tank is below 1/4. the VIN number is; [xxx] this is very dangerous, and could cause a serious accident if I am not able to get out of the way of oncoming traffic. Last week I had the local dealer check the vehicle. They said if it were the sensing unit in the gas tank, it would be covered under a recall. They said it was the fuel pump itself, not the sensor, and therefore, I would have to pay around $1000 to have the fuel pump replaced. There is nothing wrong with the pump, there is something wrong with the pickup device whenthe tank level drops below 1/4, and this happens over a period of time. I have checked several web sites and found quite a number of people complaining about the same situation. I called Chrysler today at 1-800-992-1997 and was told I would have to speak with customer service at 1-800-853-1403. When I called this number I spoke to a representative and I explained what the problem was and I was told the vehicle was too old for them to do anything about it. I asked to speak to his superior, and was denied a name. When I asked for a name, she asked "is anything else I can help you with and told me thanks for calling. This is not an anomaly with my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to the sites I visited, this occurs from 95 and on into the 2000 (s) Jeep. The Jeep died on my on a busy highway at 1/4 tank and I could not get out of the was of traffic in speeds of 70+mph. I thought I was going to die getting my vehicle to the shoulder of the road. This defect can cause death. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

My car has major problems and I can't afford to fix, then I find the problem that I have is due to the automaker's problem because the car is on recalls for the problems I am having. I received no notices on any recall, and when I got on the web-site to check for recalls there are as many as 10 major problems with my car and Jeep. Some could cause me to crash or even explode while driving. Where are my recall notices?

The consumer rear ended another vehicle in a panic stop while driving at 60 mph. Upon impact, the frontal air bags failed to deploy. The dealership or the manufacturer were providing any information on why the air bags failed to deploy. The front passenger sustained bruises from the seat belt. The vehicle displayed a hard start due to improper fuel pressure, it would take a long time to crank before catching, and the brakes pulsated due to warped rotors.
