Approximately 5 years ago, the heat stopped working on the passenger side of my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Then last year, the heat and A/C stopped working completely. This makes for very dangerous driving conditions as visibility is greatly reduced at times. Its too costly for me to repair myself. It appears that this is a problem for most of these vehicles and I can't understand why something hasn't been done about it. Also, the passenger side seat heating element stopped working after it apparently shorted out, luckily, no fire occurred. And the hydraulics through out the vehicle have stopped working and I noticed this when first the hood came down on my head and then the rear window! I've also had to replace the engine and it was due to problems with the coolant/hydraulic fan...at a price tag of $4000...

Over the past three years my power windows slid down. One left rear a few years ago slid down as we were going down the road. Rt passenger side down about a year later. January 2nd my passenger side window did the same. I took it into the shop and mechanic said it was the regulator, it would be $300 to fix it, he said yep that's common in Jeep. I have a friend who has a 2002 Jeep, same problem with all four.... I'm a single mother, single grandmother that cant spare that kind of money. Yesterday 04/14/2009 I walked out to my Jeep to discover the window was down. Thought wow I don't remember leaving my window down because I have sound equipment I would hate to have stolen. It was chilly out that morning, tried to roll it up.... guess what? now all of my power windows are broken due the regulators. Fuel pump, and injectors are my problem too. Oh yeah!!!!!!!!!! let me add the heater core to that. I love my Jeep... I take good care of it, it looks brand new. The oil is changed with the best money can buy and on time every time if not sooner.

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee= my vehicle should have been covered under the lemon laws of the us. Equipment failures: - window regulators- replaced 2 - heated seats- both seats have the wires burnt in two in them; possible fire hazard...not covered in recall of a later year - blend doors broke- had to replace all three motors and doors - left turn signal does not function consistently - door lock system is failing: Driver's door has quit locking; has to be done manually; back door behind the driver makes a squawking noise when you lock the doors, tailgate is not locking; alarm will go off if you open the door, but it is not locked. _constant small coolant leak.
