Dual side heating and air is not working properly on my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Passenger side is ice cold constantly, while my driver's side is working properly for now, but for how much longer? after a lot of reading of other articles, there should most absolutely be a recall, especially if I have to pay that kind of money to get it fixed, then I should be reimbursed.

My '01 Grand Cherokee A/C and heater is uncontrollable. Fan comes on but no air from vents.this seems to be a defect that is not uncommon with this model.several online sites show that this is not an isolated situation.60 K miles and Jeep tells me that its out of warranty and they will not help.

Air only blows one speed only at constant speed when accelerating and cuts off when braking. The air only blows hot air and the temp can not be changed. The air/heat started to not work correctly on the passenger side first then reached the drivers side. There is loud creaking noises coming from the dash when the unit is turned on or when the car is cut off. It can even be heard outside of the vehicle.

Vehicle shakes when trying to break again. Took in for service and told they had safety notice that the brakes and rotors were to be replaced. New mfg on the rotors, since they were having a problem. Brakes and rotors replaced when 2 yrs in services with about 9K. 3 yrs later (29K per dealer) rotors need to be cut due to warping again. In 2003 was told when they changed the metal rotors, I should not have the problem again. Now the vehicle is out of warranty and rotors are warped.

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I purchased new. Within the last month I have had two power window failures. This car is primarily driven by my wife and has only opened and closed the windows on occassions. This appears to be a defect in the power window mechanism.

My 2001 Grand Cherokee is experiencing a severe vibration problems when braking. I've contacted the nw Jeep dealership in beaverton Oregon and they have informed me this problem is not taken care by the Jeep corporation. I believe this is an inherit defect to the car since I had this same problem fixed a year ago and now they are refusing to fix the same issue since it is not under warantee any longer. I've spoken to several Jeep owner on the similar vintage vehicle and they are also having the same issue. I believe the government should force the Jeep corpoartion to put the vehicle as a recall item.

I am the original owner of a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. At 24K miles, the brakes vibrated so bad that I had to apply significant force to the steering wheel to maintain safe braking. My Jeep dealer told me I had to have the entire brake system redone-and I did- $600+ bill. Now 10K miles later, the brakes are again pulsing. The dealer now says the rotors need to be resurface-same ones they replaced 10K miles ago and that this isn't covered under warranty. What is going on" why no recall? does someone need to get hurt in an accident"

Recall generation 3 seat belts. I have actually had problems with most manufacturer seat belts, including aircraft belts (pacific scientific). I selected "20" in the failures slot so this will get through. Using my skills as an aircraft tech. I have also inspected auto belts and found most of them regardless of manufacturer to be '!@#$%.

Grand Cherokee 4WD 6-cyl

  • 18,700 miles
My 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee has to the shop twice for the same complaint. The car shimmies very bad above 40 mph when the brake is applied. I only have 18,700 total miles on the car. The first incident occurred at approximately 8500 miles and the dealer replaced the required parts according to the technical bulletin issued by daimler Chrysler. The second time (same exact shimmy indication), I was told that the rotors had to be turned and that it was a heat problem and not covered under any warranty. Furthermore, the problem was perhaps a driver habit and not any fault of the manufacture. I paid the bill and informed the service manager that I was not happy with this situation and wanted him to verify through his district manager that this was appropriate action and not a warranty item. He said that he would and get back with me.

Consumer requested that factory running boards be installed in the vehicle for medical reasons, which were promised by the dealership at the time of purchase, however when consumer arrived to picked up the vehicle, the running boards had not been installed, but the dealer had installed what was called side steps, which were then installed incorrectly, consumer was informed that new holes would be drilled to make the side steps straight, when the vehicle was brought back out the side step were still crooked and it looked as though someone had taken a hammer and pounded on the edge to straighten it out, consumer was informed to take the vehicle home and she would be called when the running board came in, consumer was never contacted and when she finally spoke to someone, she was told that once the vehicle is driven off the lot, she has then accepted the terms and conditions of vehicle, conusmer states she still has not received the floor mats, cargo cover or the second ignition key that was promised in the contract.
