Again this type of problem is placing my daughter in bad situations. She cannot close the window to protect herself from vandals and she could not leave the car in this condition in this section of town. Really, really dangerous.

I have owned several Jeep Grand Cherokees (all given to me fortunately). I have had nothing but problems with all 3. I hate Jeep. I will never buy a Jeep. I have replaced window regulators no less than 4 times. I have never heard of anyone having to do this in any other vehicle, only Jeeps.

I have had this Jeep since 2002 and on 2 separate windows the motor has failed a total of 4 times. I had the motor replaced 3 times and on the 4th time I just put a screw in it to hold up the window. It is too expensive to keep replacing the motor when Jeep has a problem with these motors.

I've had 3 windows in my Jeep go bad. The only one that works anymore is the drivers window. Anyone know if Jeep is doing anything about this problem?

The plastic piece on the window lift mechanism that holds the cable is a piece of CRAP. The cable pulls through the top of the plastic retainer and the only solution till now was to buy a whole new window regulator assembly. I designed an aluminum block to replace the plastic retainer and have had no problem since. Best part is, It only cost about 20 bucks. If you buy a new regulator assembly, guess what, its gonna break again. If you want one of these aluminum replacement parts let me know. steve banks at banks machine dot com

Driver door window regulator failed, dropping the window into the door. I live in a cold snowy mountainous area with rain and snow forecasted for the next week!

My window went down thru drive thru a day before Christmas, and then wouldn't go back up. Well I live in Canada and the temperature was -15 C or 5 Ft. So there was no option for me I had to get it repaired immediately. Well $700.00 later, and the next day it wouldn't close again, and the dealer then again fixed it. How many levels of bad is this. If Jeep reads this I have had three of your Grand Cherokees now, and this last model is making me very fearful of buying another one.

I had the same problem as others did. My drivers side rear window just stopped working. Took it all apart to see that the cable had chewed up the cheap plastic. Went on ebay and got a new window regulator for less than $50 and put it in myself. I refuse to pay a garage to do something that I think I can do myself!!!!

We just bought this Jeep 3 months ago at the dealership. The rear drivers side window rolled down as it should, then never went back up! We can hear the window motor running. It would cost over $400 at the dealership to fix, but we are buying the part at the auto salvage for $90.00 and installing our self. We are also disputing it with Jeep for a reimbursement, We were told this is a common problem with this vehicle.

THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD HAVE BEEN ENDLESS. WE RIGGED IT UP BECAUSE THE MECHANIC SAID IT WOULD COST $380 TO FIX, AND I AM UNEMPLOYED SO I DO NOT HAVE FUNDS LIKE THAT TO FIX MY WINDOW. I ALSO CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS ISSUE HAS NOT HAD A RECALL, BAD ECONOMY OR NOT... COME ON... WE REMOVED THE DOOR PANEL PLACED A PLASTIC HANGER AND ZIP TIES TO KEEP THE WINDOW FROM FALLING DOWN IN THE DOOR, BUT IT STILL FALLS AN INCH OR TWO. I HAVE TO USE A HUGE SUCTION CUP ON THE INSIDE TO KEEP IT FROM FALLING DOWN AN INCH, BUT I CAN NOT HEAR MY DAUGHTER TALK TO ME FROM THE BACK DUE TO THE ROAR OF THE SLIGHTLY OPEN WINDOW. APPARENTLY THIS IS THE 4TH TIME A WINDOW HAS FALLEN ON THIS CAR, PER PREVIOUS OWNER.

Drivers side window suddenly wouldn't roll up. Tried to correct the problem by taking the door panel off. Could hear the motor, but it was if the window was off track. Took the jeep in to dealership and the window regulator was replaced. Free, under warranty. Friends jeep had the same problem on passenger side. It wasn't covered. It was a $300 fix.

Driver window failed. Typical. Long laundry list of problems with this jeep. Most disappointing is that when under warranty the answer from jeep service was always "can not duplicate the symptom" translation- "we do not want to fix any issue until your warranty expires and we can charge you for it!" One time I brought this jeep in because the lights were out on the instrument panel- car was under bumper to bumper warranty- service guy said "can not duplicate the problem" asked for the manager and he said the same. No lights on the dash. Black as night. they can't see the problem. I am convinced that jeep service personal are encouraged, if not required, to deny all claims that warranties will cover. Needless to say that once the warranty was up I would receive a list of issues that need "immediate attention" whenever my car was in for routine oil changes.

Have a problem with your power windows? Contact Jeep Corporation at 1-800-853-1403 to file a complaint about this in hopes for a recall. Within one month three out of four windows in my Jeep stopped working suddenly. I've done some research on the internet regarding this and have found hundreds of stories from customers with the same problem. This is a very expensive fix and Jeep/Chrysler should be responsible for their faulty manufacturing. Please take a moment to file a complaint about these windows or any type of Jeep problem to 1-800-853-1403, it only takes a few moments of your time.

Today, I tried to roll up my front passenger side power window, and it wouldn't roll up. I had to disassemble the door panel and push up the window manually. The likely cause is the motor.

product to replace a "jeep only part"' , window won't even stay up with out motor and regulator. All jeep can say is "it's not under warranty"
