The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the cruise control failed to function and the instrument panel failed. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V438000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unavailable. Parts distribution disconnect. Updated 02/26/16
