Ignition system was repaired under recall in 2016. The cars ignition system continues to have issues and will shut off and cause the car not to restart. Very dangerous to be driving and have the engine fail. This happened on the highway recently. Chrysler says there is nothing they can do. Car has been looked at by independent mechanics and I have notified the dealership. They say it is my responsibility now.

The fuel tank skid plate has completely rusted and has broken off. My tank (that has a date of 2004 stamped on it) is completely exposed. I am afraid that my tank is going to fall off and cause harm to myself or the driver/vehicle behind me. The vehicle is mostly city street / highway driving-€¦ no off road driving. I am concerned of the considerable amount of pot holes 🕳️ in my area that damage can be done based on the area I live in. Southwestern Pennsylvania has a lot of pot holes.

Door handles have crumbled into nothing, every door won't open from inside this is ridiculously an emergency exit problem, just like old refridgerator doors and kids getting locked inside, just think if a child crawaled into the Jeep on a 90-100 degree day, this is criminal negligence, how can you make such a passenger death trap, and not fix this, there is over 1million Jeep with this problem, yea how do you escape a fire, or flood, thought Jeep was american made, best of the best, get you there and back safely, guess just not in or out like the back seat of a cop car, or your families tomb.

All of the dash lights up, flashes/flutter/flickers, radio shuts off, HVAC system shuts off, but engine still runs. This only happens when the car is on, however it can happen while in motion or in park.. but I do not see a pattern beyond that (like when it rains or is humid). I have tried to make it happen by juggling my ignition because I know that is a thing, but that never initiates the problem.

The door handles on the interior of my Jeep are very brittle. 2 out of 4 handles are currently broken as they are made only of plastic. This is a major issue with my vehicle as it poses a safety risk. Many people online have this same issue, this needs to be looked into, I am fearful for myself and my families safety in this car.

My interior handles on all 4 doors have been cracked for years but now they are completely crumbled. At first, I had to open the door for passengers in the rear seats, then, whomever was in my passenger seat, they had to wait for me to go around & open the door for them. They could not get out from the inside. It was a hassle but I mostly drive alone, so I tolerated it. As of yesterday, I now have to open my window, (drivers side), to open my door from the outside because it's crack to the point, that I can't open my door from the inside any longer. It's a very unsafe situation. If I was in an accident & needed to get out I wouldn't be able to. Years ago, the Jeep dealership in clearwater, fl. Was going to replace door panels, to replace the handles, but the district mgr that ok'd was transferred & the new district mgr. Refused. This is unacceptable, could be a matter of life & death. I'm hoping & praying you will do something to remedy this. If not, I'm thinking of calling the local news. All 4 interior door opening handles have cracked, broken & crumbled. Door handles are totally inoperable. This is a dangerous safety issue ' in an emergency situation driver & passengers will not be able to exit the vehicle, causing serious injury or death! manufacturer safety recall warranted!

I recently purchased a used 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited (5.7 hemi). The vehicle is in very good shape for it's age except for the fact that three of the four interior door handles are broken. The only handle that isn't completely broken is the rear driver side door. The rear passenger side door has has a hole in the plastic about the size of a quarter. The front passenger side door has also has a hole and almost all of the plastic housing is missing. Fortunately, both of these door handles are still operational from the inside. The front driver side door has the most damage and although operational, there is only one small piece of plastic that is holding the pin that connects the cable to the handle. Once the pin falls out, the door will no longer be operational from the inside and the plastic that is currently holding it in place is extremely brittle. The whole mechanism that opens the door is exposed through the door and the actual handle no longer is seated where it is supposed be. It is only a matter of time before the driver door becomes inoperable and that is a huge safety issue.

"takata recall" all 4 of my doors have broken handles to let you open the door from the inside. All plastic has broken. It started about a month ago one at a time. It's a huge safety issue do to the fact than a passenger or all passengers may not be able to exit do to the faulty plastic. Fire, accident or whatever the reason I'm not comfortable letting my friends ride in my car as well as myself. This should have a recall because I'm seeing many Jeep owners with the same problem. *lease make this a recall do to safety issues. Thanks

Took vehicle to pep boys to check due to the fact I was having trouble turning key in the ignition and it continued to give me problems then the key became stuck in the ignition. A locksmith had to be called to pep boys to fix the ignition. I had to pay $200. Then it was told to me that I needed a starter, which totaled $644. Wanted to know if I get this money refunded to me. I have receipts. And also a repair done about 2 years ago related to the recall.

This vehicle has an issue with "intended acceleration". twice the engine has gone to wide open throttle at very slow speeds. First time I had time to put the transmission in neutral. Second time I went for a very surprising ride over a four foot retaining wall. It landed on the grass without tipping over. I have parked this car and haven't run it until I know what to do with it. This is a very dangerous problem that could happen at any time and anywhere.

While driving all the instrument / gage lights came on then went off several times, while this was going on the vehicle speedometer and tachometer went to zero stayed for a few seconds, long enough for me to pull to the side of the road, then resumed operating. Not sure if direction lighting was responding on exterior of vehicle at the time. Or head lights, as it was daytime. I had difficulty getting people to acknowledge as it's generally a very busy road traveled. Meridian rd puyallup wa.

As I was leaving a shopping center about 40 miles away from my house my Jeep and as I entered onto the interstate the Jeep acted like I was having a flat tire with the steering wheel shaking and giving me a lot of vibration and the flop flop sound you get from a flat tire. I stopped and got out but no flat tire, loose lug nuts or anything I could find. Put flashers on and headed up the road slowly not going over 45 mph. It finally quit and I was able to increase speed. It continues to have this wobble sound along with the steering wheel shaking off and on. I did some research and the only thing matched what happen was the Jeep death wobble. Some vehicles have had a recall on this but I don't see any for my year.
