Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Takata inflator. I purchased my Jeep and after a few months I notice it kept getting stuck in 3rd. Wouldn't come out. Then the message "transmission over temp" would pop up. It would randomly just loose all power and cut off as I would be driving. I had it looked at. Checked the codes bc check engine light would pop up also. Multiple codes were in the history pertaining to the issue. I was going to get everything fixed until I was told to contact Jeep first bc there might be some recalls that others were experiencing my same problem. I would of paid for it regardless to fix the problems. It had numerous recalls. Made an appointment to mckinney Dodge in easley, SC. After fixing the recalls I have paperwork for a few months later was doing it again. I work in a service dept. So I asked one my techs if it was same problem as the recalls and did I need to call dealership back. They said yes. Called mckinney and they refused to set me an appointment and said the problems had nothing to do with the recalls they fixed. After having several tows and stranded and almost wrecking with my children in the car going down the highway and just dies, I'm beyond frustrated and no one can seem tell me how to fix. After reading several reviews and recall information, my issues are everything with my recalls. My airbag light go on and off also. They never touched that and it's also a recal. I need to know what I need to do bc I'm not waiting for an accident or death bc this vehicle. It's my only car and I've tried to pay myself and had recalls fixed and problem is still there. I've contacted a lawer. I want it fixed or I want another vehicle.

I was advised by larry H miller in albuquerque nm that my recall was fixed and that I would need to pay for a diagnostic to see why the " service 4wheel drive system" light was still on even though I had been there 2 times in past and issue was said to be resolved by a system update. I left the dealership after I was told it was about 280$ that I would have to pay to get the issue fixed-

Dear recipient, I am reaching out to make others aware of a serious problem with my family's 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While the vehicle was in park, with the keys out of the ignition, one of my members of my family was able to shift the gears from park to natural. The SUV was parked in our driveway which has a slight decline in slope. Due to the decline and the vehicle being in neutral it started rolling backwards with my family member inside. We were cleaning the vehicle at the time of the incident so all the doors were open. The Jeep picked up speed, hit our fence, and rolled out onto a public road and into our neighbor's yard. Lucky nobody was hurt, except for the Jeep. This could have killed a member of my family or other civilians around the scene. I have had other issues with my Jeep, one of which has been made into a recall without fixes. This recall is about the ignition switch going from on to off while driving. I can say from experience this has happened many times, and is extremely dangerous when it does happen; you lose the ability to control your vehicle besides having brakes. You loss power steering and experience engine failure in the middle of busy traffic. Besides that recall, the drivetrain being able to be switch in a parked position without the keys being in the ignition is the most frustrating, which could have killed my son, or others around. I bought this vehicle because I wanted something safe to drive my family in, and that has fallen very short from expectations. I don¿T understand how these vehicle issues can be swept aside; I might as well keep my old vehicle made in 1984. Please take these comments into consideration and I thank you for your time.

When driving transmission has not been properly shifting into proper gears. The transmission is sounding as if it is struggling to shift into the gear it should be in. This has been happening for many years. This happens in all driving areas, hills, flat roads, short trips, long trips. Began 2011.

The check engine light would come on and the car would jerk at high speeds on the freeway, it even powered down completely on the freeway after reaching a high of 65pmh. The car would make strange grinding noises and lose power steering also. The vehicle was brought to the Jeep dealership and diagnosed finally after 2 visits as a faulty shifter module/control module or the cars "computer".

Grand Cherokee 4WD 8-cyl

I took my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee ( 63000 miles ) to the dealers for the N23 recall to reprogram the final drive controller, so the car wouldn't shift into neutral by itself and roll away. A few days later the code; service 4WD system appeared on the dash. When I returned to the dealer for a different recall, I told them of the problem and asked them to check if the reflash had caused this error code. Just like I have read on Jeep forum and online news articles, the dealer claimed that this is the first time they have seen this problem and it has nothing to do with the N23 recall. They wanted $350 to diagnose the problem, plus labor and parts to repair the car. I believe the antioch Jeep dealership knows that the recall reprogramming of the final drive controller showed that there is a cracked circuit board in the unit and that it is a systemic problem in over 250,000 cars. I would ask your help in bring this problem out into the open, so all car owners in my situation, are not asked to pay for this repair. Also I ask that you help us make the Jeep corporation stand by their product, do the right thing, and make this repair free through a new recall. While driving the vehicle has a tendency to either not change gears (rev up) or even slip into neutral. It's creating a safety issue especially driving at highway speed. At times I am able to get to the side of the road turn vehicle off and shift it back in gear which sometimes I have to do it more than one time.

Vehicle has stalled while in drive at various speeds, in reverse or idling at a stop. This issue has been ongoing for over 2 years - has been brought to the dealership; was never told there was a recall on the ignition switch until I brought recently to midas for the above issues. They advised the engine shuts off due to the ignition switch being faulty. There has also been occasions that the ABS seems to engage while in drive, typically occurs when turning. Unknown if this is associated with the faulty ignition switch. Was told by Chrysler that the recalled part would be available as of September 11, 2015 - it is still not available. This vehicle is unsafe to drive.

While driving the gear lights on the dash will all have a square around them. When it does this the truck becomes in neutral, and is unable to accelerate. This has happened numerous times since we purchased it in Feb 2015. This is quite dangerous and luckily we have not had an accident. Updated 09/17/15 it was determined, the transmission control module needed to be replaced. Updated 09/22/15

I took my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee in to the dealer to have my reprogram final drive control mod recall P73 fixed. While I was there the dealer informed me that the recall did not fixed anything, and their was nothing else that they could do for me. As of today 7/1/15 my 4 wheel low still does not work. About 1 ½ years ago I had recall N23 preformed on my Jeep which imedially caused the 4 low to not work. Jeep still has not fixed the issue that they caused. My 4 low worked before I took my Jeep into the dealer to have recalled `N 23 peformed.
