I would be driving down the road and my Jeep will shut off all by itself and then turn back on all while driving down the expressway doing 75mph my steering wheel and lights and breaks would all lock up then the Jeep would just pop back on and then the RPM's would be really high so I would have to hit the breaks to slow way down so my Jeep wouldn't blow up on me. I've taken it to like 5 mechanics and they can not figure what's wrong with it. Then also I can get in my Jeep and start it and my radio and backup camera won't work and some of my gages wouldn't register when I start it ups don't start going down the road so I will have to pull over shut my Jeep off and pull the key out and open the door to make sure everything is off then put the key can in and restart it and sometimes it will work and sometimes I will have to do it a few times to get it to work.

Sometimes when driving at night with the bright lights on and you pull the lever back to dim them to oncoming traffic the headlights turn off too, literally leaving you in the dark. It happened last night and has happened several times in the past. I feel this is a very dangerous and scary situation that should never happen!

The following events happened over a period of 2 weeks. When in motion on highway, instrument panel lost power, then came back on and all control panel lights lit up, then went off. While in motion on highway, instrument panel went blank--cycled on and off several times then returned to normal. When engine was off, ignition was off and key was out of ignition, lights were turned off, headlights turned on and off twice for no reason. While driving on highway on slight incline, engine lost power for a few seconds then returned to normal. Vehicle has been to a certified Jeep repair shop and they could not find the problem. (see attached)

While driving or parked with engine running all dash warning lights flash on and off any interior lights that are on turn off, radio turns off and heater/ac and fan turn off for a couple seconds then turn back on. Usually the check engine light will then stay on for a few more cycles. Engine, power steering and brakes and head lights all continue to work throughout the cycle. This will happen numerous times in one day or go for a month without doing it at all.

My daughter was just driving her 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the engine cut out while driving about 70 for about 10 seconds she lost head lights brakes ect. The car then turned back on automatically before she stopped and the esp, ABS, bac, traction control lights came on. This is so dangerous and seems to be S common problem. Is there a recall" if not shouldn't there be" my husband already replaced the ignition switch regulatorabout two months ago because the lights were going on and off. That repair seemed to have fixed the issue. The serpentine belt is also squeaking like crazy. It has been. Replaced twice. First with an inexpensive belt then with a certified belt.

While driving my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I experienced a random loss of dashboard lighting, gauges and heater. Have seen multiple post pertaining to exact same issue with many different solution suggestions. Common belief is that best solution is to replace ignition switch (ironically same issue that has been recently recalled by Chrysler, but not yet fixed via many dealership's services despite several notices that they are aware of the issue.) seems very irresponsible for manufacturers /dealers service to allow this risky defect to continue to occur for years without a common formal resolution for dealerships to adhere to. Consumers are left to scramble as best they are comfortable with to resolve while some dealer service centers and mechanics take advantage of these people by overcharging them for fixes that don't resolve the true problem. Please push this issue to common resolution as many consumers seem to be bother literally and figuratively in the dark as to the correct direction!

When turning left or right at slow speed the engine RPM drop from about 600 RPM to 300 or 400 RPM and then stalls. This happened 11 time in 2010 and then final disappeared. It now happen in 4 times since 24 March 2014. Twice it happened in northern NJ as I tried to enter the garden state parkway, once in a shiopping mall and two weeks ago as I was turn off the main road into my street. Recently I have written the dealer where I purchased the vehicle explaining the problem but I have never received even an acknowledgement. I was told by Chrysler customer service that I would have to have an expensive analysis done. When this was done in 2010 they could not find anything. I was told they had to see it happen. I had it happen 1000 ft from their facility, but they refused see the vehicle unless it was towed. I feel that this is a very dangerous situation especially when it occurs turning on to a high speed highway.

While vehicle is in motion a front dashboard lights would flash for a while and suddenly goes dark including head lights and brake lights. This is not in any correlation with weather, temperature or road conditions. This has been happening randomly and due to safety concern we no longer use the vehicle for a family trip and we do not use the vehicle at night since all electrical components goes off while it is in motion. Per online search it appears there are numerous Jeep owners experiencing the similar malfunction. This is a very serious safety issue, so why the manufacturer has not issued a recall to have this repaired?

2007 (pre and post) have rear tail light assembles that work intermittently. Jeep replaces(for approximately $200) broken taillight assemblies with new units having the same defect. Their design happens to fail around the 30,000 mile point (by intention?). Jeep will not return broken parts when requested for inspection (they don't want these reaching your office). Light bulbs are not the issue. This known Jeep defect keeping their assembly line running at the expense/risk to Jeep occupants or any vehicle following a full size Jeep. Plus they are making money while endangering others. Do the statistics of Jeep show they are rear-ended more often? how convenient if this is the case and the evidence is damaged in the accident. Look on-line for the dialog or just look at Jeep on the road and you'll see a brake or tail light out in a much higher percentage than any other vehicle. I notice an after market light assembly was recalled (std. 108), no amber light. How about a recall for a light that may or may not work at any given moment" which is worse"

09/29/2008 Jeep taken to garage for head light failure nothing found. 03/09/2012 to 11/07/2012 all indicator light flash exterior lights flash. Been to the dealership three times for numerous days at a time they can not find anything wrong still having this problem. Really not good when it is dark out and you don't have headlights. At 15,000 and 35,000 I had to have the shift modular replaced because all the car would basically go in to neutral when being driven. I would have to pull over and turn the car off and restart it. The first time it was at the dealership for three days they could not find a problem and sent it home only to have to return 2 days later with the same problem. As I have found many people on line with these same issues makes you wonder first why these issues can't seem to be fixed, second why there has not been a recall. It is truly a miracle that no one I have heard of has been injured or killed because of these defects. When the Jeep is working I love it. If I had a hope and a pray of getting a new vehicle I would trade in my paid off Jeep in a heart beat so that I wouldn't have to constantly worry that it stop running or that I will be driving blind in the dark. Sadly I didn't even touch on the other electrical issues I.e. window that had to be fixed remote keyless issues it is sad that the company doesn't do anything about these things this will be my last Jeep. I feel that these problems are dangerous for me, my family and anyone that is on the road with me and other Jeep owner with the same issues.

I have a 2007 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. While I was driving at night, in the dark, my headlights and interior lights began to flash on and off. Realizing what an extreme danger the Jeep was to me and all others on the road I immediately took to the dealership. The dealership said they were unable to diagnose a problem and told me to continue to drive the Jeep. Its happened on 5 different occasions after and every instance I have taken it to the dealership with no resolution nor a diagnosis.

2007 and newer Jeep Grand Cherokee and Laredo has a programming defect in the brake lights. If foot is on the brake, removed then quickly reapplied the brake lights do not come back on. Only the third/center brake light comes on. This only occurs when the headlights are on so you still at least have the taillights. But no right or left bright brake light. Dealer duplicated the problem on all units in their stock. Chrysler acknowledges the problem but is doing nothing to correct it. I sold the vehicle last month as I won't drive a vehicle with defective brake lights.
