Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

I merged off of the interstate, when trying to hurriedly slow down at stop sign I was not able to stop promptly, I then proceeded to slide into intersection, and was struck on driver's side by F-250. I had just received a recall the prior Thursday on my alternator diodes, and it says possible effects on brake lock system. Current parts were not available for it to be resolved yet.

During the year (2014), I have received two separate safety recall notices from Chrysler. When I received the first recall notice (P14/NHTSA 14V-154 brake booster), I called my local dealer (carson Dodge/Jeep) and was told by the service manager that they did not yet have the parts to perform the safety recall, so it did not make sense to perform the inspection. The service manager said they would "put me on the list" and would call me when the parts were available. Several months later, I got the second safety recall (P36/NHTSA 14V-391 sun visor wiring). I called carson Dodge/Jeep again. They still did not have the parts for the brake booster recall and it "didn't make sense to bring my Jeep in to them until they could perform the inspection for both safety recalls". the service manager said they would "put me on the list" and would call me when the parts were available. It is now the end of the year, carson Dodge/Jeep has not called me to perform either of the safety recall inspections and I feel like I'm getting jerked around. As these safety recall notices from Chrysler are not dated, I cannot be sure of the exact month/date they were received. As important as these documents are, they should be dated.

Chrysler recalls P14 & P36 have been in effect since may and August of this year respectfully. To date I am unable to obtain parts for either recall from Chrysler. P14 deals with eroding booster pump enclosures and they continually tell me they cannot get parts. 7 months has elapsed since notification and no remedy in site.

This is a complaint about the timeline in which this recall P14/NHTSA 14V-154 (brake booster) is taking to get fixed by the Chrysler group. I have been on the waiting list at my local dealer in rapid city since mid June and they inform me that they are only getting 3-4 parts per month to fix this. I don't understand why Chrysler is reacting so slow at getting the parts out to the dealers to fix this, especially with the winter months coming up and if water gets into the brake system and freezes it may cause the brakes to not work properly. I called Chrysler to complain and they didn't seem to feel concerned and just gave me a canned standard statement that it is a controlled recall. Now in the meantime I have a 2nd recall P36/NHTSA 14V-391 (sun visor vanity lamp wiring) which I am on another waiting list to get fixed. If someone can please respond and let me know what is considered a reasonable waiting time for the brake booster to get fixed? if my dealer can only repair 3-4 vehicles per month, it may be years before all the affected Jeep are fixed.

I have had a brake recall notice for my vehicle for months! when I check with Chrysler and the dealer parts to repair the brakes have not been released! I have now received a second recall for a possible short in the headliner that could cause a fire, again no parts to fix the problem. Is the government going to look into this or am I wasting my time filling out messages on this site"?"
