Loved this car up until the electrical issues began. I first noticed that the car wasn't automatically unlocking when I'd put my hand under the door handle...I would have to place my hand a couple times for it to unlock. Then my radio screen started to shut off completely and then reset. Happened maybe once a day for a few days, until the radio screen began completely freezing, not allowing me to adjust the volume of radio or select anything on the screen. The heat would also begin coming out on full blast (when I'd have it on a low setting).

Finally, I brought it to 495 Jeep in Lowell, MA. They opened at 7AM and called me at 7:05 AM stating that they couldn't find anything wrong with the car and that perhaps I was pressing the screen dimming button. HAHA. This joke of a dealership told me at the end of the day that they'd done some sort of "update" on the radio system and it was working... I picked it up after work, found it to be working the same as it ha been when I dropped it off.

I kindly explained to the Jeep service man that it was an intermittent problem and I'd read a lot of other similar complaints online. The jeep service man snapped at me and told me to take the car somewhere else! I took home my brand new, busted $43,000 car... got into it the very next morning to go to work and found that my heat wasn't working at all, nor was the radio volume... all the interior lights were flickering.. it was a dangerous ride into work in a snow storm with no functioning heat to defrost my windows.

I've brought my Jeep to a more respectable dealership where it has been sitting at for 4 days with no resolution yet. At least I can say that this Jeep service dealership is kind and sound like they're making an effort to fix, but I have a feeling this vehicle is nothing but a lemon!

Grand Cherokee Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,200 miles

The whole gauge, including EVIC, engine rpm, gas and temperature of water tank, all went out. Don't know how much gas has left, don't know if the engine is gonna overheat. Shut off the car and tried several times to turn it back on, but no luck. Drop it off at dealer. Hopefully it can be fixed.
