The total integrated power module has begun to fail resulting in delayed or no engine turnover when ignition button is pushed while parked (although remote start on key fob works fine, battery is fine and starter is fine), driver seat moving on its own while driving on highway, headlights failing at night while driving on Suburban streets, etc.

Chrysler (fca us llc) recall T36 / NHTSA 17V-435 incident summary on 2018-01-21, my 2104 Jeep Grand Cherokee stalled while traveling at approximately 65mph. A crash was avoided, but the situation was highly dangerous to passengers and other drivers on the road. This incident exhibited all the symptoms and warnings from Chrysler (fca us llc) recall T36 / NHTSA 17V-435. (summarized below) the vehicle lost power and stalled while driving on the highway. Just prior to the stall, warnings briefly flashed in the instrument control panel. Warnings included; battery saver mode, ABS system failure, suspension failure. All electronics in the vehicle exhibited bizarre behavior and could not be controlled. Additionally the speedometer continually recycled and the wipers turned on with no intervention. Complete loss of power steering and braking occurred. After the stall completed and the vehicle was stopped, a loud high-pitched ticking noise came from the engine compartment. Additionally, a pungent burning smell and smoke came from the engine compartment. The vehicle was completely disabled and unresponsive and was towed to a Jeep dealership on 2018-01-21. A claim was filled with fca us llc recall department on 2018-01-23. As of 2018-01-26, the dealer is still waiting for fca us llc recall department to respond. As of 2018-01-26, the parts are still not yet available for this recall. T36 / NHTSA 17V-435 recall summary 'the alternator on your vehicle may experience diode thermal fatigue failure due to cyclical loads induced by ehps. When the diodes fail, the alternator will no longer supply electrical energy to the vehicle and may lead to a vehicle stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. Failed diodes may also develop a resistive short circuit that can result in heat, smoke and/or fire originating within the alternator.'

Recall on Jeep alternator and brake booster water shield. My complaint is the length of time in getting the parts. The alternator went out and it has been sitting at the dealership for 11 days now and parts are still not released from Chrysler. They will not give me a rental. What is a person to do? except pay 800$ and then fight Chrysler to get my money back.

I was driving down my neighborhood street when the stability control indicator starting chiming that the system was turned off. My windshield wipers then turned on automatically and would not shut off, the headlight indicator turned as well. When I arrived home I let the Jeep sit for a little while until I restarted it. The same things happened except this time the ABS brakes warning lighted up as well as the check engine light.

My girlfriend was traveling 60 miles per hour down interstate 167 outside of puyallup, Washington on Monday, December 5, 2016. Winter had finally arrived with a light snow and icy roads. While driving down the freeway the dashboard illuminated and the speedometer stopped responding. We have a very important person in my life, a mom, and a step-mom, that is traveling at the rated speed limit in potentially icy conditions and we have lost all systems to include air suspension, airbag system, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic braking system (ebs), traction control.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving, the steering wheel jerked inadvertently. The contact heard a screeching noise coming from the wheels and the wheels began to adjust inadvertently. Also, the windshield wipers and the blinkers malfunctioned. The traction control activated and the steering wheel started to turn without warning. The contact stated that the check engine and traction control warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to pollard Jeep (located at 5075 East pearl pkwy, boulder, co 80301, (303) 447-8187) where it was diagnosed that the steering column control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 14V636000 (electronic stability control). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

"takata recall" driving to work my car made a loud whistling noise and the battery light came out. I let it sit during work and after work I started it up. I then hopped in and while driving I noticed a burning smell coming into the truck and it was smoking from the hood at a stop light. I proceeded home and the smoke was now inside the car. My baby cousin was in the car and he began coughing, that's when I looked over and noticed it was very smoky in the car. I kept driving home (the street way) rolled the window down slightly for ventilation and noticed that my parking sense light came on. At the next light, my abn light came on along with the check engine light, and several other lights. That began to scare me and I knew it wasn't just my battery. The next time I took my foot off of the brake the smoke from the hood increased as well as in the car. The windshield wipers began going crazy, and I could tell that the car wasn't letting me use the gas anymore and the wheel began to lock up. This really made me nervous because it was extremely hard to turn it. At this point im panicking and causing traffic. Pulling into a safe location, the wheel was completely locked at this point and even pushing the brake was hard. After coming to a complete stop the car wouldn't let me put it in park, then the vehicle just shut off. The smoking continued for a few minutes but I jumped out as soon as it came to a stop. Luckily I took another route home or else I would have been on the highway when this happened. I then called aaa and waited outside to get the truck towed. It took them 25 minutes to come after a 5 minute phone call requesting their services. I got my belongings out of the truck and it still smelled like burnt smoke even after waiting with the window cracked. I don't have pictures, I have videos.

When that happens the assist/ 911 emergency button on the rearview mirror lights up red and is enoperable/no longer working. The radio changes channel on its own and the clock continues to change time/ with enoperable gps system. This happens when the vehicle is stationary and in motion no matter where the location. My vehicle is experiencing the exact problem addressed in NHTSA reference #14V636000. I was not notified of this recall because my vehicle was manufactured in 07/13 which is outside of the recall period. I believe that my vehicle should be included in this recall. It comes on suddenly and is dangerous to drive.

Forward collision warning (fcw) occasionally comes on without reason in city traffic, interstates, and country roads (no traffic or obstructions nearby) and at various speeds causing a "brake" warning signal and sometimes, not always, actually causing the vehicle to brake. Related to the fcw problem is a warning signal that frequently appears that indicates the adaptive cruise control/fcw are unavailable. Vehicle has been in shop numerous times and except for one time that the dealership found a part missing, the dealership continues to indicate they cannot duplicate the problem. The problem remains on-going and has not been resolved. The date of occurance below is the most recent event with the "brake" warning.

I started my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and stepped outside to assist my son who was in the front passenger seat. Before I could walk around, from behind, the Jeep started rolling backwards, picking up speed, and hitting another parked SUV. I never understood what actually happened just "assumed" my son, accidentally, touched the gears, but wondered how/why would the Jeep move without the brake ever being depressed. Their was rear damage to my SUV and rear/front damage to the other person's car. It is now being published that both the 2014 and 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee have had numerous incidents of rolling on their own--it now explains everything--my SUV did it. It was not parked on a slope, hill, or any type of incline--just a flat surface.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 14V636000 (electronic stability control) and 15V461000 (equipment); however, the part was not available within a reasonable timeframe to schedule the recall repair. The dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available and indicated that it may take longer than six weeks. The manufacturer could not provide an estimated date for when the contact's vehicle would receive the recall repair. Additionally, there was an abnormal noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 13,000.

The navigation system goes blank mid trip screen goes on and off and switches to other media. The transmission clicks from switching from park to drive or reverse. The truck makes a weird vibration noise it sounds coarse and feels weird after 20mph. All these problems have been happening since I took the Jeep out the dealership. I always bring it back to the dealer they say they fix it and I always bring it right back with the same exact problems.

I was driving and stopped at the stop sign and when I accelerated after making the stop and took a left turn on G street located on kirtland air force base my car accelerated and I lost control and when I applied the brakes nothing happened and my car proceeded to hit a parked vehicle and still the brakes did not stop the car and the only reason the car stopped was because I hit some reinforced steel cables holding something up. Four other vehicles were damages as a result of my brakes failing.

While traveling perfectly fine for 2 hours on an expressway, our vehicle became completely uncontrollable as the road became slightly slippery and we decreased our speed to around 45 mph. The steering wheel began shaking, the vehicle felt like it was driving itself, shimmying left and right uncontrollably. We could not correct the vehicle from slightly fishtailing even after removing pressure from accelerator and reducing speed to 5-10 mph and driving on the shoulder where there was more traction. We were totally unable to control the vehicle. We switched the select-terrain knob to "snow" to see if that helped, but it continued to be virtually uncontrollable. We were afraid to completely stop the vehicle due to all other traffic flying past us going normal speeds. The vehicle miraculously made it to a gas station right off the highway and was towed to the nearest Jeep dealer. The service department took it out for two different drives and could not replicate the problem. They hooked it up to their computer diagnostic system and could find no error codes. We also inquired if it was part of the P64 recall regarding the electronic control stability and were told no even though it seems similar to the problem that the recall addresses.this was the most terrifying experience we have ever had in a vehicle. If there had been any vehicles in our immediate vicinity at the onset of the issue, we would have been in a horrific accident. Two other similar, but less intense scenarios had happened before this one, both including the same feeling of being out of control, once on a rainy road service, and the other on an intermittently slippery road. Because this seems to be an intermittent problem and one that is a huge safety concern, we refuse to drive this vehicle on the road again.

Traveling at reduced speeds on interstate, after passing an accident (wet conditions/rain), I found the car starting to lose traction with the road. I live in southern California with potentially troubled roadways, however this was interstate 15 in san diego, and within separated carpool lanes. As I continued on cautiously at roughly 60mph due to conditions and unsure of the first occurrence, I felt the car slip, and slide, the rear end starting to drift toward edge of lane, I removed my foot from gas and allowed car to regain traction. Was forced to crawl at roughly 45mph to feel safe again. A native of Oregon where rain is a routine part of life, this occurrence falls beyond the realm of expected performance. The Grand Cherokee is one of the heaviest cars on the road, making this issue perplexing. At the time of occurrence southern California was experiencing moderate rain throughout the month dispelling much credit for oil accumulation on the roadways, as is usually indicated. When I came to think about the issue I remembered a few weeks prior on a wet roadway (not raining) as I accelerated from a red light my rear tires spun, and I had to release the gas to regain traction as well. The reason I am reporting is I brought this scary incident up to a friend who also owned a newer Grand Cherokee (2013), and was appalled to hear of similar occurrences. This has greatly diminished my trust in the vehicle. My own steps were to upgrade tires which are falken ziex S/TZ05 side 285/40R22xl 110H, to yokohama of the same size, and report to dealer. However I am skeptical this would be a fix, as the falken tread (just 4,000miles into use) looks more than capable of dispersing water. With infrequent rain, it may be quite some time before conditions repeat themselves, and I would feel uncomfortable getting up to (again 60mph) moderate speeds.
