High beams are not activating when enabled from the steering column. Both automatic and manual switches for the vehicles high beams do not enable the lighting in front of the car. The odometer also does not signal the high beams are active in this scenario as well.

While driving ALL headlights suddenly went out. This has happened a few times now while waiting for our service appointment. It has occurred in both high and low beam configurations. The lights have failed when the dash switch is in the Auto OR in the On positions. The vehicle is definitely available for inspection, however it is currently being serviced for this defect. Failure of all forward-facing lights could be fatal at speed. We were in our driveway and on small town streets when it has occurred, but next time? We showed the service representative a video of the failure recorded 09/21/2022 in our driveway, high beams on and switch in Auto position when all lights failed. The video is available to nhtsa if requested. Upload formats, below, don't include the MOV (iPhone video) format. The lights failed without visible warnings, messages, or symptoms. I did not check for OBDII codes.

The license plate LED lights went out. Pulled over by trooper to get them replaced, as they are a safety concern for troopers to identify the license plate number. After a few trips to a couple auto parts store, I learned that none of them carry lights. One of the parts stores representative said I would need to get in touch with Jeep. Jeep confirmed, that they need to replace the wiring harness and lights for this model year which is 2015. I looked online and it seems to affect model years 2014-2019. Jeep wants to charge nearly $200 to fix the issue. If the lights are required for safety concerns and help with backup camera to make it more visible in the dark, then this should be a concern to owners of Jeep Grand Cherokee model. There are no warning lights to let you know the lights are out until you get pulled over and ticketed by the police or you go to get the vehicle inspected and told you need a costly repair. If Jeep knows about this defect, they should be doing a recall for the issue.

Halo lights in 2015 Jeep Cherokee went out. This is not a light bulb replacement. You have to replace the entire headlight assembly when this happens and it is $1600 for just the part. This is not covered under my warranty so when I called Jeep to complain the person I spoke with advised me that she gets this complaint frequently. Lighting on the outside of your vehicle is important. Why would Jeep put a part on a car that you cannot replace or change a bulb and if it happens frequently it seems to me that this is a defect of some sort.

Memory seats no longer work, therefore causing my seat to be out of whack and I can not sit right. My engine began to make a ticking noise out of nowhere, meaning something is wrong. One headlight is out but isn't and causes my bright to be on at all times. When using my light I now cannot use my actual brights.

My family (1 year old, 4 year old, dog, wife, and I) were driving from nc to NY. We stopped outside of erie so I could get some food and my wife could walk the dog. For a few minutes she told by the car with the door open walking the dog while I got food. We got back in the car and she said something smelled funny. I looked around and saw nothing so we headed back on I-90. As soon as we got on the highway we saw smoke and pulled off immediately. We got the kids and dog out away from the Jeep and I went back to see what was going on. I noticed now the back seat was smoking and realized it was the pillow that my wife had put by her feet. In the little amount of time that the pillow was down there with the door open it caught the pillow on fire which then caught the dogs bed on fire. I replaced the light and checked it and noticed within seconds it get burning hot and there is no cover or protection from this bulb at all.

Headlight illumination at night is terrible. If on a highway with no additional lighting your visibility is dangerously low even when using the high beams and fog lights. If inclement weather like raining, make visibility even worse. A recall and upgrade to the headlights should be issued.

I purchased 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee altitude with the standard headlights last year. These headlights are very dim and should be considered dangerous. They might be fine in a city with street lights but on country roads the low beams barely light the road and the spill into the ditches do nothing but light the edges. The high beams should be considered the low beams if they weren't pointed so high. The dealership I purchased it from won't do anything about the brightness because that is how they are from the factory, they did say they would adjust them if I thought they weren't pointed correctly. My parents have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee and have the same issue. My mother if she had a choice, would refuse to drive it at dusk or later. The weak headlights are a huge concern this time of the year because deer are a very real hazard in my area. I have attached an image of the low beams while vehicle was parked. The tree line is about 10 yards away. The picture doesn't do justice to how crappy these lights are when driving. At this point in time I'm forced to purchase aftermarket headlights for a new vehicle to rectify an issue that is putting my family in danger. By doing so may void warranty repairs. Thank you for your assistance and understanding.

The halogen headlight Grand Cherokee limited(without luxury group II, which the hid headlight comes with) is too dim during the night especially raining night. Hardly to see lines or objects. I went to a dealership asked them if I can upgrade it to hid headlight with my own cost, they said no. And the 2016 Grand Cherokee also use the same halogen headlight.

Stock headlights are very dim, making visibility poor. This is an accident waiting to happen. This condition should prompt a recall. I have never driven a vehicle where visibility was made so poor at night. When turning right, you could never see a pedestrian if they were to your right. Not good!

Transmission seems to hesitate when I initially start driving (as if it is struggling with the gear) then it jumps. Gear also appears to be at #5 when I am under 40mph. Does not feel right and just recently started doing this. Only has 5500 miles on it. Then it seems at times that the front headlights flicker while driving when it is dark out.
