I moved to a small town. I have received three recall notices. The nearest dealership that can service my Jeep continues to tell me " those parts are not available ". after that, no one would bother to even return my emails. I realize they make no money performing a recall, but why am I to be punished" I found a dealership in medford Oregon, about 120 miles away, left my information and I am waiting for a response from them. The recall of my ball joints was fixed immediately. I lived in a large area. So now with three new recalls and no one to fix the issues, what can I do? do you have any influence over these dealerships to make them fix the problems" the way it stands now my steering will go out just as my airbag deploys, causing someone to rear end me, and with the new faulty gas tank recall, a collision will ensue thus blowing up my Jeep, me, the faulty air bag, and the recalled steering mechanism! I don't look good in " blown up". anything you can do would be helpful. Thank you!

We just had the trailer hitch recall installed on this Jeep Liberty. How could Chrysler's trailer hitch installation be approved as a protection for the gas tank. Only the receiver sticks down in the middle of the tank. The trailer hitch does not have a reinforcement bar bolting to the frame well in front of the tank to avoid an incident that could cause tank rupture. This fix is totally inadequate to avoid tank rupture.

I received two recall notices from Jeep in the fall of 2014 for the defective design for the gas tank location on my Jeep Liberty. I spoke to the local dealer last fall after getting the second notice. I knew it was a waste of time to contact them after only the first mailed notification, since I knew there wouldn't be parts available. I spoke to the dealer on a visit in the fall after the second mailed notification and the local dealer told me the parts would not be available for quite some time. I left them my name and asked them to contact me if the parts were availabel. In January of 2015, I contacted the local dealer again and they chuckled and told me the parts were not available but they could put me on the growing list they kept at the dealership. So I had not even made it onto the local dealer waiting list yet! to make matters worse, I got a call a week later from a Chrysler warranty customer center. I called back after the second call and told them that the dealer had laughed at me just two weeks before when I had asked if the parts were available. In addition to the defective gas tank location, my Jeep also has the air bags that can inadvertently inflate (supposedly with a few seconds of warning if you happen to be looking at the dashboard and notice a warning light). I got that recall fixed (a very low cost jumper) last fall. I understand that now my Jeep may also have a defective TRW airbag inflator. I suspect this was the issue all along but Chrysler took the cheapest possible route (a jumper). Lastly, I have submitted a formal complaint on the NHTSA web site concerning my headlights going off by themselves while driving at night. They have done this multiple times and normally come back on within 5 seconds. There are many other complaints for this issue on the NHTSA site and yet there has been no recall for this without warning issue.

Chrysler of york, pa sent me a safety recall notice almost 2 years ago. Every time I call the dealership, the manager states that the part is on order and not in yet. Seriously, after 2 years. I also tried the 1-800 number at the Chrysler group recall assistance center and have no success with hang ups and repeated voicemails. The recall states that that Chrysler is suppose install an original equipment manufacturer (oem) trailer hitch to better manage crash forces in low-speed impacts. I travel often, and frequently to areas where inclement weather is the norm. I consider the recall a very serious matter that while not corrected, may cause serious damage/injury. I pray that I never experience a crash, but I would hate to see something happen to me or others injured due to the possiblity of a fuel leakage if there was a impact to my vehicle. I would really appreciate some immediate, prompt and courteous assistance in having this problem resolved. Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealer has no problem overcharging 4 times the costs for labor and parts and responding very quickly when they are making money from consumers, and I would like to see them utilize that same attentiveness when a situation as such arises where there is no money to be squeezed from their customer, but rather they be accountable, step up to the plate and fix what is wrong. I can be reached at [xxx] which is the home number and email is [xxx]. my cell is [xxx]. thank you. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
