Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Liberty. The dealer indicated that the vehicle was repaired according to NHTSA campaign number: 06V288000 (suspension) on August 1, 2016; however, the remedy did not prevent the failure. Years later, while turning right into a parking lot, the lower ball joint fractured on the driver side. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed by the manufacturer to take the vehicle to the dealer for repairs where it was diagnosed that the driver side ball joint fractured and damaged the axle and the front driver side tire. The manufacturer refused to cover the repair. The contact was also unable to determine when the parts would become available to receive the repairs for NHTSA campaign numbers: 15V673000 (air bags and 13V252000 (fuel system, gasoline, structure). The vehicle was still at the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

This is a complaint about fca's recall implementation. Fca simply does not get parts out to dealers to get the repairs done. I have been wanting to get the recall work completed on the car but the dealers do not have any parts to do the repairs. All the notices do not matter if the manufacturers do not get parts out to complete repairs. Fine them if they don't get parts out to do the repairs!!!!

I have attempted to submit my 2003 Jeep Liberty for recall repairs relating to recall N46 and R06 beginning more than a year ago to my two nearest Jeep dealerships; tate Jeep in frederick and century Jeep in mt. Airy, Maryland. When I inquire that I have received notices by mail instructing for recall repairs I am being ignored for service. Century Jeep placed me on a call-back list, but I was never contacted. When I called after 4-5 months I was told I am still on the waiting list. A year has gone by with no further contact. When I inquired of tate Jeep about recall repairs they will not respond back to me. I fought with century Jeep for about a year to have my airbag recall addressed. Frankly, I am tired of begging and pleading with my local Jeep dealerships to have recall work performed. I have been afraid every day I drive my Liberty of having the air bag explode in my face or my gas tank exploding from a rear end collision. Can you help prompt my dealerships to address these outstanding recalls. I continue to receive recall notices on a periodic basis informing me that my recalls have not been repaired, but the dealerships refuse to do anything. Century Jeep tells me that they do not have the recall repair parts in stock. They tell me that they only get a couple each month from Chrysler. How much longer do I have to drive this death trap? I appreciate any help you can provide me. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Took Jeep to al serra grand blanc mi to install trailer hitch per recall - said they could not install due to rust - yet Jeep has listed recall repair as completed even though no installation was done. Despite numerous calls to Jeep it is still listed as completed. I would like the recall to be shown as incomplete in their records. I believe this is a falsification of records.

The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled several times without warning. The contact stated that the transmission locked and caused engine failure. The contact had a repair shop replace the transmission and the engine. The dealer stated then that the recall repairs were not abe to be completed because the part was not available for an extended period of time the contact was included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 12V527000 (air bags), 13V252000 (fuel system, gasoline, structure) and 15V046000 (air bags). The contact went to a second dealer and they also were not able to supply the part for the three recall repairs. While parking in the garage, the driver side air bag exploded without warning before the contact opened the door to exit the vehicle. The contact put both arms up and the force of the air bag impacted the contact's arms with burns and pains in the shoulders. The contact received medical attention due to the minor injuries from the driver side air bag deployment. The contact also noticed that there was a white smoke substance that emitted from the vehicle. An independent investigator was sent to investigate the air bag failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for longer than a month due to the fact that the part was not available to repair the vehicle for several months. The vehicle was not repaired and the contact was still waiting on instructions from the manufacturer on a remedy to repair the vehicle. The failure mileage was not available.

There are 12 active recalls on my vehicle. I don't trust the vehicle. I want a replacement vehicle. Some recalls are "incomplete" and cannot be remedied right now. I have had very bad experiences with Jeep dealerships - they have repeatedly demonstrated that they were untrustworthy and either not doing the work they said they did or breaking something on my Jeep and charging me for it. I think they should replace my vehicle another vehicle that either has no recalls or one that has passed compliance. No accident yet. Do I really have to wait for an accident" 12 recalls"
