I received a safety recall notice on my 2003 Jeep Liberty two weeks ago and called the local dealership immediately to set up a service appt for repair. I was told they did not have the part in stock and would have to order them and they should be in by the end of that week. I followed up on this the following week (12/27/06) and was told the parts were still not in. I called the dealership again today and was told that it would be another 1 to 1 1/2 weeks. I feel they are not repairing my vehicle in a reasonable time. I rely on my vehicle and asked for a loaner, but they told me no. Any assistance in getting the recall repairs expedited would be greatly appreciated.

- the contact received his recall 03V460000. The contact stated that he has not had the lower ball joints replaced as of yet. The dealership told him it may be about 2 months before the vehicle could be repaired. The manufacturer told him that only 4 lower ball joints were sent to the dealership per week, and he felt that he should be on the top of the waiting list because the vehicle was used for government purposes each day.

Jeep I had my Jeep serviced and they told me it was unsafe to drive because od the ball joint recall. One of them was all corroded and about to snap. When I called the dealership to set up an appointment they said they could put me on a list I was #48 and that Jeep was sending them only 3 parts a week. It would be a while. Unsafe to drive I had the other place replace it they had no problem getting the part for$215 I can drive it still waiting for call on other side. This seems dumb that they will only doe 3 a week because they only get so many in at a time they said if I just hit a bump it could cause me to crash. Jeep should be in trouble for this and if my other side breaks I will sue them huge if I am still alive that is. I will be sending the bill in.

There was a recall for the lower ball joints of my 2003 Jeep Liberty. I did not know anything about this recall until I received a recall letter on December 21,2006 yet on Nov 25,2006 - I lost control of my vehicle and I believe it may have had something to do with the lower ball joints. It clearly states in my recall notice that water may enter the front suspension lower ball joints on my Jeep and cause loss of control of vehicle........this is exactly what happened to me. I feel that daimler Chrysler should be responsible for paying for my Jeep which had to be totalled out and also the costs I accrued for rental vehicle and other such expenses. If I was warned about this a month earlier - I do not believe I would have had an accident. This is a very serious issue!!!

I received a recall notice from daimler Chrysler about my 2004 Jeep Liberty about a safety recall F23-lower ball joints. This recall states that "ball joint separation can result in a loss of steering control and could cause a crash without prior warning". trying to make an appointment with the dealer to repair the problem revealed there would be an 8 week wait because the parts are not available. I learned from the dealer (and later verified by calling daimler Chrysler at 1.800.853.1403) that daimler Chrysler is making only 3 replacement parts available to dealers per week! if this is such a potentially dangerous situation, doesn't daimler Chrysler have an obligation to make more parts available to dealers of their defective cars" I understand that we are talking about a lot of cars, but that does not change the fact that I am driving a defective vehicle which I will have to continue to drive for another 8 weeks. How can such a huge corporation not insure that parts are available to their dealers in a more timely fashion? what happens if indeed a crash occurs without prior warning during that waiting period? what will daimler Chrysler say and do then? this is a shameful example of violating the public trust-and this car is not cheap-they are certainly not saying-hold your payments until the car is repaired. What can I do but wait"

I called to schedule an appointment as I received a safety notice from Chrysler. I was told it would be 3 months before I could get in and the dealership is only doing 2-3 per week. I have had an accident in the past with a broken ball joint so I am very sensitive when it comes to this. Three months is too long to wait for a safety recall, especially one this serious.
