Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

2004 Jeep Liberty Owner Comments

I had a very serious car accident where the 2004 Jeep Liberty sport rolled over several times after swerving on the highway going 68 mph. The front airbags did not go off in this kind of crash. There was no front impact. However, the vehicle was equipped with side curtain airbags which did not go off. I was very surprised that they did not go off in this kind of impact when there was clear impact on the driver side and passenger side doors, both the driver and passanger side door windows shattered. The vehicle had been totaled. I believe there was additional bruising and head impact of the driver and passanger due the side curtain airbags not going off.

While driving the vehicle experienced a roll over, and upon impact, the side curtain air bags did not deploy. Driver had no major injuries., however the driver sustained cuts and a concussion from the force of the vehicle slamming on its side.
