Liberty 3.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 99,500 miles

I'm not 100% sure that this is a transmission prolem, it seems like it could be mulitple things. Possibly the torque converter? It's a 2005 3.7L V6 Jeep Liberty and it bogs and shutters in-between turn over and acceleration mostly, but sometimes after acceleration at low speeds (5-10 MPH). The problem started around 6 months after I got it (around probably 80,000 miles), and used to be very minor. I could shift into neutral and then back to drive in order to resolve the problem, but now even that doesn't help. It bogs more severely now, power cuts out a bit, and it almost feels as if it's going to die all together. Anyone having the same problem or have any ideas on the cause of this?
