The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the vehicle had a skyslider roof that malfunctioned. The contact had to forcefully shut the roof after the cables disconnected from the guide rails with the convertible sun roof. The contact called rothrock Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (1608 plaza ln, allentown, pa 18104, (610) 439-8485), but the parts were too hard to obtain so they did not want to attempt to make any repairs. The manufacturer informed the contact to get a repair estimate without any chance of reimbursement. The failure mileage was 44,000.

This Jeep Liberty has a sky slider roof which opens like a convertible top. The top malfunctioned when trying to open it and we were unable to close it electronically with the control buttons. It remained partially open at the front and along the sides. This happened while using it in a straight line at around 55 mph on a 2-lane highway in North Dakota while on a trip about 250 miles from home. The dealer was able to manually push it down most of the way but informed us that the entire assembly including motors, arms, cables, and cloth top would have to be replaced. The parts were ordered 7/9/18, and it is now 10/2/18 and Jeep does not have a supplier for the part. I contacted Jeep customer care 877-426-5337 on 9/14/18 to see if they could escalate the situation but they state Jeep is waiting for a new supplier. I have a case opened which is assigned to a case manager. Driving it creates a safety concern because it has to be driven with the windows partially down because the air pressure pushes the top up and creates gaps to the outside air. It is disconcerting and distracting driving in the rain and here in Minnesota it will be very cold and snowy soon, which will create an even greater safety concern for the 79 year old owner.

Retractable roof would not close properly. When closing, roof would not fully close and seal creating openings exposing the interior to harsh weather conditions. When driving car to seek repair, front section of roof came off track and flew backwards. Fortunately it did not fly off the car but the potential for this to happen is a very serious safety concern. This is not an uncommon problem for this retractable roof system so, I trust this it will be recalled for repair/replacement before a tragedy occurs.

I purchased the vehicle from the original owner. It is an immaculate vehicle. However, the sky glider had leaked sometime in the past ownership terribly. Stained inside. They told me they had replaced the seal at some point. It still leaks terribly. When it rains, wash it, etc. I'd like to know what to do to permanently fix the leak

The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Liberty. While driving 45 mph, the soft top of the vehicle opened without warning. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road and observed that a pin was missing and the top started to slide open. The contact mentioned that this was the second occurrence. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that a pin was missing and a cable fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 80,000.

I have a 2011 Jeep Liberty with a sky slider, the slider no longer operates and it leaks water the dealership says it will charge 150 just to look at but not fix I have read that many owners are having this same issue. Slider roof also makes a lot of noise while closed on highway like it going to fly off.

Driving on highway, began hearing a high pitched humming noise, began smelling a burning rubber smell, pulled over to side of highway, and smoke began coming from under the hood. Within 10 mins, the front end of the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. Have owned vehicle for a year and a half, and have had no issues prior to this incident. Car seemed to be functioning normally prior to this incident.

#1 problem, after driving in wet weather, "gate open" illuminates on dash, interior lights all come on, then when I get stopped turn off car and lock it, within about 5 minutes alarm starts going off, shut off alarm, within a few minutes usually will go off again, usually have to take anything of value with me because the only way to make the alarm not sound is to keep it unlocked. #2 problem, opened back passenger door, button stuck in, wouldn't release, had to tie the door shut to be able to drive to dealer, tech came out and stuck a knife in a little hole to release button, informing me that latch was rusted on inside and whole assembly will have to be replaced. The Jeep is 4 years old, body in excellent condition no rust at all, cost to replace this is $179. Not covered under the 2,000 dollar warranty that they talked me into when I bought the car. Its called the ultimate warranty. I'm sure the alarm issue isn't covered either.. very low quality vehicle that I paid way too much for.

When filling gas tank fuel gushes from fuel fill tube before fuel filling nozzle shuts off, happens every time unless you manually fill fuel tank very slowly. Outten motors in (hamburg, pa) told me fuel roll over valve is bad, fuel tank replacement required, cost would be $1051.73.
